yes 12months in 2009 in Iraq, and 9months in Afghanistan in 2013. both I disagreed with but I couldn't run from it and the guys around me were like my brothers. majority of us only cared about keeping each other safe we could care less about the big picture, because most soldiers aren't retarded we know we are over there fo dumb reasons, but someones gotta do it the Taliban did crash 4 of our planes and killed thousands of US citizens

I would not side with my country in a violent conflict with another country. Affiliating oneself with something like that automatically creates an unnecessary barrier between the associated and all others. This creates major problems when it comes to things such as country, religion, friendship, and family. Even those who are not actively belligerent to 'outsiders' of any sort are hard-pressed to go against something/someone that/whom they associate themselves with in favor of something/someone that/whom they do not when forced to decide.
