Imagine you're standing in a dark room, and in front of you is a doorway. There is a 90% chance that your life is waiting for you on the other side. However, there is a 10% chance that a monster is behind it, waiting to inflict upon you the most horribly painful, prolonged death possible. Would you-

A: Open the door and take your chances.

B: Choose to end your life absolutely painlessly.

I know, pretty depressing thread. For some reason I randomly thought of this scenario, and I'm interested to see what people would choose. Personally, I think I would go with option B.

Option B sounds like giving up.

the replies made me lol, but i would also take my chances with the evil monster odds are already in my favour with 90% chance of not seeing him anyway.

just a possible sh*t load of pain... so much you'd wish you hurried up and died. no biggie.

A. Eventually the pain will become so numbing that you won't feel anything anyways. Up until that point would suck though.

I know that monster, and I love him. So I'll go with option A
