I think it's more about saving Sasuke from the pain of vengeance and hatred now, which most likely will be death. Not about bringing him back.

I second this. You have to take note of Naruto's character. At this point he may not wanna bring Sasuke back at all. Or, well, it may not be his true goal. He wants to look after Sasuke, to save him from his hatred and Tobi. From the darkness in his own heart. In the end, I think, if Sasuke chose to wander or just not return to the village, well... I think Naruto would just be happy if that hatred had left Sasuke. Besides, if Sasuke came back in the end or Naruto dragged him back and that wasn't where Sasuke wanted to be, really, then Naruto wouldn't be happy because Sasuke wouldn't be happy. I think Naruto just wants this hatred to leave Sasuke and for Sasuke to move on, however he chooses to.

I don't think he will.. he has been living with hatred since Itachi wiped out his clan. His life has always been about revenge. Suddenly leaving all of his hatred seems impossible. Naruto has the power to change people but he has been trying to change sasuke for ages and it is not working. Plus, he is an international criminal-he needs to end up dead
