There's some serious downplaying of strength for Kakashi. Sasuke was badass and all, but kakashis hype some beats that sasuke. Copied 1000 Justus. That right there is all we need to know. If he was desperate enough, he'd pull out something that would kill sasuke even though he wouldn't kill him. Kakashi could've killed sasuke mid diff at that time. If they both have sharingan in use that is. Kakashi has much more experience and is more intelligent. If I remember correctly I think kishi put Kakashi pretty high up in the intellect level. Or was that a thread I was reading? No matter. Kakashi isn't any fool and he has many ways he could have taken sasuke down

Nah im certain Kakashi would've been able to stop Sasuke. Keep in mind Yamato wasnt going to get serious until the end

We have no way to judge how Sasuke would've fared against an intent to kill Yammato. But seeing as how Yamato didnt accept utter inferiority im guessing he wasnt completely outclassed. And if he wasn't, Kakashi sure as hell wouldnt be.
Well Sasuke still had moves up his sleeve. Namely Kirin it looked like he was going to use(Kishi nerf) but then theres Manda he can use also CM that boosts his speed/strength. I don't think Yamato would have fared well. Only reason I think Kakashi and team 7 would have a better chance is because Kakashi excels at team work.

Yea you think Yamoto would have been able to handle sasuke but sasuke still was even using his 3ts when he outclassed them I doubt he would have had been able to bring sasuke back

Got some good points here.

Yea but we also have no idea how Kakashi would've handled Kirin. We can't assume it would've been a 1 shot, he could've either interrupted Sasuke or straight up predicted its path, we can't assume. Manda is an issue but with Yamato and the others there to keep manda busy Kakashi would be able to deal with Sasuke. CM is indeed a problem however but so would Kamui be for Sasuke. All in all a lot of different things would have gone differently had Kakashi been there, but the situation certainly would not have been in Sasuke's favor.

kakashi has never been in a situation where he didnt have a plan. Whether he's using Copy ability; his summons; his scrolls; his Kamui; his jutsu; his taijutsu or even his kunai he seems to always be prepared.

against Itachi is the one time he was really surprised

Yep, exactly my point. Sasuke would not have had it easy with Kakashi in the way. Whether he still won or not, it would've been by extreme high diff.

Was with naruto and sakura when they met up with sasuke in part one?
Me I think Kakashi would have to fight with oro and kabuto just because Kakashi would have smashed on sasuke and bring him back.and oro probably would have knew that.

And how would the whole situation have went down with naruto turning into the 4 tails if Kakashi was there?

I don't think it would have happened just because oro would be focused on Kakashi getting sasuke. naruto would have just been trying TNJ everybody to stop this and cry about the old team 7 and sakura will just be sakura crying along naruto
Good topic. I've been rereading this arc for this very discussion. Orochimaru would have ended up stepping in and Kabuto was already on Kakashi's level, according to part 1. Kakashi would have been overwhelmed, but if they stayed out he could take Sasuke at that point.

Kabuto claimed to be on kakashi's level but when they met kabuto ran away. Kabuto got beat by part 1 naruto no amount of underestimation would make part 1 kakashi loose to non kyuubi enhanced early rasengan part 1 naruto.

As for oro he would be a threat if his body wasn't already rejecting him and he was exhausted after battling kyuubi naruto. Oro would be no more than a distraction.

Sai and naruto were disabled by chidori current, yamato was paralyzed and sakura was crying and at his mercy. Mind you sasuke did this all without his sharingan or CM.

He was definitely above them
Like I said, Half of them didn't fight back. Even before chidori current, they didn't go on the defensive. If they were all serious, things wouldn't go as smoothly as they did for Sasuke.

Kakashi would have outperformed Yamato in a few ways:

Better teamwork with Sakura and Naruto
Kakashi would be more likely to uncover Sai's true mission sooner
Kamui could permanently get rid of Oro, Kabuto, (or Sasuke's arm hundreds of chapters sooner)

The setup for the confrontation would have been totally different due to the reasons above, but as long as Sasuke avoided having a body part ripped off via kamui, he would have prevailed in the end.

My only problem with Kakashi skills set is that I believed he improved throughout the manga much like the main characters. Kakashi shat his pants infront of Oro but when he fought those jins he was calm and ready to fight. Early p1 Kakashi would not have been able to do that imo.

Give me a break! Sasuke was the only one fighting during that encounter. Team 7 was an emotional wreck, and Yamato stated himself he wasn't serious, Sasuke only "outclassed" them b/c he was the only one serious, and it was honestly the biggest pis ever. It was to only show how strong he had gotten, Kishi couldn't let Yamato outclass him there.

What exactly would Yamato do. Lightning made his wood useless and sasuke speed was too much for him.
