Naruto didn't earn any of his powerups even the root of his stamina is the kyubi which became the means of him gaining sage mode. Naruto trained and failed to control the power of the 9 tails. Naruto gained SM because of the kyubi chakra increasing his stamina reserves to levels where he'd be able to learn it. Naruto fought the kyubi for kcm and lost, kushina bound the kyubi so he could steal it's chakra. Evenue Rokudo sage mode is another handout.

Ashura on his own matched Indra in power keep dreaming sirfapalot.
