He does know because gaara isn't like Naruto and he isn't too kind hearted if there risks he would take it, look at him the 5 kage summit he knew what he was doing

you keep saying something about taking risk, what exactly do you mean. out of everyonbe in this manga, naruto would be the first to take a risk. also, i am aware at the 5 kage summit that he was confident and fit in. thats due to him learning on the job.

Naruto is the best candidate for Hokage.

He definitely has the strength to be a great Hokage and so what if he lacks a bit in the brains department? He's smart in many certain ways and has people like Shikamaru and Kakashi to help him out. Its basically the same like the Indra and Ashura story, Indra only gained power while Ashura gained power in friends and that was why his dad preferred him instead of Indra. Sasuke may be strong but he is selfish and wouldn't even care about how many men he would lose (if there was ever another battle) as long as he could keep his position safe. While Naruto actually cares about his village and would help them as much as they help him. Although the only threat that could match up against him is Sasuke and he already re-joined the good side which means Naruto could just solo anyone that tries to pick a fight with his village, lol.
