Sasuke used to live to Avenge his clan, then it was to Avenge his brother.

Finally, through Hashirama's words and his brother's story he reached a point in his life where he wants to change the system, he doesn't wish for a repeat of the Uchiha Massacre and corruption. The only means he sees of achieving that is to become Hokage.

He has finally found his purpose and living for his own goals and not for the revenge of others.
