Would itachi still be as good as he is if he never awakened his sharingan

How beating kage level shinobi, don't make you kage level?
It's not that Orochimaru underestimate him, he couldn't do anything against him.

He's an Uchiha. Of course he will use his eye powers a lot. But he is also a genius so even without a Sharingan he would still be a huge obstacle for everyone in Naruto universe.

 

[Method]

Taking something as powerful as the sharingan away from him would never make him as good. Not saying he is useless without it, but it is a main part of his arsenal, allowing him to get further than he could have if he didn't have it. This goes for every other clan or person with a special ability too, not just the Uchiha. The only characters I think who do not fall in this category are Gai & Lee (Even without gates they are still great characters).

Itachi is strong with and without his sharingan.

I only remember itachi showing some speed and physical strength feats along with fireball jutsu. But other than that it appears he relies solely on his visual prowess in fights.

He still has:

Katon
Suiton
Finger Genjutsu
Bukijutsu
Taijutsu

But the same can be said for any character when you take their main feature away...

Naruto and Sasuke wouldn't be considered strong by current power levels.

And as others have noted, he was a genius and would have course worked on learning other, powerful techniques.

From the start Itachi had him, the moment Orochimaru tried to attack he was beaten if we consider that Itachi was on guard (he was never shown to let guard off) he still beat Orochimaru pretty easily.

You could of said the same thing of madara when he was alive and itachi's age. The uchiha grow to depend on their eyes, obviously. And theres nothing wrong with that you use whatever you can..

The guy found two legendary spiritual weapons at the age of 17. The same ones that Orochimaru (who has an insane amount of intel) spent his entire life looking for. Itachi's also one of the most well-rounded shinobi in the series. If he didn't have sharingan, he would just do something else to make up for it.

Well dosent have the best stamina. He has good percision, and agility. But he dosent like to fight so without all of his op jutsus he probably woulnt be a verry fierce opponent... I mean tenten is supposed to be extremely accurate like never misses but ya know ... She's fodder.

Itachi was said in the Sasuke vs Orchimaru fight that he could handle Itachi that's why he came for the younger weaker brother. Orochimaru never underestimated he was weaker and got beat in record time.


OT:

As everyone said he would of developed a new fighting style, he was a prodigy and I don't see why he could without sharigan I say he would be kage level. He should be held to the standards of the other prodigies. ​
