Would Itachi be the fifth if .....

Consider a situation where Madara actually died at VOTE. So we have no Obito going mad thus no Konoha invasion and therefore no Uchiha slaughter. Could Itachi have been the fifth Hokage in this case ? The competitors would be Obito or Kakashi. They would be older than him too. However would Itachi have beat them to the throne ?
Assumption :- Obi to is not crushed by boulder

Without obito there would be no kyuubi attack, no uchiha revolt, no shisui dying.

Itachi would never awaken Mangekyo and live out his life patrolling the streets of konoha with a mere 3T or probably get killed later when war breaks out.

How do you know Naruto would even become Hokage... Because then, Naruto wouldn't become the Kyubi jinchuriki
therefore, he would lead a relatively normal shinobi life. Possibly since his dad won't even have much time to be around Naruto, he would even reject the Hokage seat, and that's even if we consider that the leaf village is a monarchy (which it isn't)

yea because Itachi made that decision, after nearly dieing by getting half of his body ripped off right? :O

Plus, it can argued why Itachi did it. Who knows maybe the Uchiha wouldn't have couped if Hiruzen had talked to them. And if they had coup'd, who knows if they would've won and made the village a better place than where its own citizens were being experimented on by its own government.

There would be immense competition for Naruto, even if he would have wanted to be Hokage . He wouldn't be a jin then. He would have to compete with Kakashi, Gai, Obi to, Itachi, Shisui , Sasuke to name a few people. That won't be easy

Obito won't have MS either. Naruto won't be a jin. Kakashi won't have sharing an. Sasuke wont have MS. Who would be the next then ?

Naruto or Sasuke since Minato won't die sealing Kyuubi either. He'll live long enough either one grows to a suitable age.
