Think about it, Genjutsu is cast by controlling the opponents' chakra to the brain.
Sakura is a genjutsu type, at the pinnacle of chakra control, meaning there is no level above her, Itachi is below.
Itachi, however, is Uchiha, capable of reflected visual based genjutsu.

SEt aside the hate....even though you all won't.

Who would come out victorious?

And dont forget Taguyas genjutsu was too much for the Uchiha brothers, Kurenai genjutsu is weak or atleast the one she performed

If you are saying could Sakura cast a genjutsu that Itachi could not break out, then no.

Because I’ve never seen Sakura cast a genjutsu so she doesn’t have genjutsu.

How I always saw this happening in my head:

*Sakura genjutsu Itachi
*Itachi reverses and smiles
*Inner Sakura leaks out and consumes Itachi, making him sweat/suffer a nervous breakdown
*Sakura tell Itachi not to mess with a genjutsu type and heals him before leaving
*Itachi makes a comment about her being a once in a life time talent that surpass both him and Shisui combine...

How does he? Anything Sakura doesn't is pinnacle level because her chakra control is the pinnacle. Itachi controlling time is childsplay to some one who can control every cell in their body.

No. If we've learned anything, it's the stronger the genjutsu, the harder it is to realize you've actually been caught. How can Itachi realize he's been caught against Sakura's genjutsu to begin with when given her skills?

I think if she explores and expresses her full potential she could possibly trap Itachi in an unbreakable Genjutsu.

Thinking about it, she has the greatest hype and the narrative really pushes this sentiment, in this field, in this series, respectively

Sakura is a genjutsu type....
Itachi is not only Uchiha, but a genjutsu specialist.

Sakura’s genjutsu affinity and chakra control allow her to break low level to intermediate level genjutsu, but ones like Bringer of Darkness, or a MS Sharingan genjutsu is just out of her league.

We know she can break Itachi’s finger genjutsu but anything higher level is extremely dicey for her.

And if she actually had studied genjutsu she might catch Itachi in a genjutsu, which is a feat in itself, I don’t see her holding the master of genjutsu in any said technique for very long.

To stop this crazy talk I will say this:

IF Sakura genjutsu was that powerful....

Sharingan sees through visual techniques...So even IF he couldn't reflect it doesn't matter as he saw through it to begin with. Sakura would need an EMS or Rinnegan to ovre power Itachi's eyes but even then due to his genjutsu prowess its debatable.


Now for the actual answer:

Itachi's reflection aren't simply a genjutsu trick. It's almost like KA to the point that the user feels their reality is happening as they plan since he literally convinces his opponent that what their doing to themselves is actually working on him. This was saw with:

Orochimaru (Snakes)
Deidara (centipede)
Kurenai

So when Sakura cast this illusionary technique, Itachi will see through it but continue to let her play it out. Its at that point that he can either reflect it or simply choose to ignore it.
