Would IT have worked on Itachi?

I just ask considering Kurenai trapped Kisame in Genjutsu which was a VERY Hard feat considering Kisame has a partner to help him AND Massive amounts of chakra and training. Not only that but Kurenai genjutsu was A-rank (The same as most genjutsu in this series) yet Itachi was not only inaffected by it he reversed it on her.

Do you think ITachi could have resisted IT?

Honestly I think it's a very likely. Susanoo protected Sasuke and Itachi has that ability too. Then there's the fact Itachi had higher genjutsu ability than Sasuke. I think since Madara used it through the Rinnegan, which is an advanced form of Sharringan with Senju DNA, that Itachi could have been unaffected. It stands to reason that Susanoo would protect him too.

OP: Madara would've said that he was completely immortal, Itachi is fodder, etc. Totsuka would pierce and seal him thus ending the war in 1 panel.

In my opinion, he shouldn't be able to, since IT is the most powerful genjutsu in the series. Although, I also feel that there is a possibility it can be countered by Itachi's own Tsukuyomi. This might sound stupid, but since IT is to be cast on numerous people, only a portion of it would be used to counter Itachi's regular Tsukuyomi. Therefore, he might actually be able to counter it

Itachi will be effected. Only Rinnegan can counter other rinnegan tech. But itachi is lucky that he will having free rinnegan after the IT

No, it wouldn't work. Because if Itachi were around, he'd have been an Edo Tensei. None of the Edo Tensei Hokage were affected by IT.

But if you mean alive which wouldn't be possible (since the only way to have him there is if he were edo'd since he's been dead for half of Shippuden), then yes. He would be affected. Anyone who is alive would be affected by IT unless they have a sharinnegan. Alone and alive, only Sasuke would be safe.

Sharingan users have a natural resistance to genjutsu. They can still be effected by it but barely.

If itachi could defend himself with susano'o like sasuke did then yes.
