Would it have made the War Arc better?

Not an Allied Shinobi Forces vs Obito and Kabuto, but for example one, at he most two, stong but corrupt villages, using them as assets, the other like Konoha and Suna seeking an alliance. That could have led to political maneuvers, assassinations and a sense of mystery and insecurity instead of getting the unrealistic Madara and Obito vs the whole shinobi world vibe.

Nah that'd be boring. What would have made War Arc better is if involved the smaller countries too. There's dozens of other villages and countries throughout the NARUTOVERSE to see them as well would have been awesome.

Politics isn't kishi's cup of tea I guess

Well, honestly, the mass "plants and zombies vs (mostly nameless) ninja and samurai" didn't do much for me. I would have kept it in a smaller scale with mostly named characters participating (basically what we saw anyway). Some of the newly introduced Edo characters were cool.

Also, just like the person above said, I doubt Kishi would be able to do a political machinations plot well enough. It should have been a different manga then.

The war should have been sans zetsu army and replaced with corrupt crippling villages or criminals who would want to go with madaras idea of living in a dream state. That way it adds a perspective to the other side about how some people would actually enjoy a tsukiomi world

The theme won't allow that... Kishi was going for 'united against a common foe' kind of peace, so we had that despite how much lame excuse it is to do a happy ending...

Had an actual war occurred, Naruto's go-lucky attitude would have been decimated just like Obito's. Sasuke would probably be the only one to come out of the war the same, mentally at least.

Politics isn't the authors specialty, I mean this guy didn't even have any diplomatic relations between the Leaf or Uchiha and just had one side killed for the value of one character's story.

I'd have preferred it if specific characters weren't nerfed for the sake of plot and adhering to an arbitrary "New surpasses the old" theme and it certainly would've been less monotonous had Kishimoto not incorporate plenty of random, mundane characters that were never expanded on previously. Characters such as Kinkaku and Ginkaku would've been better off discarded rather than implemented for the sake of establishing specific themes that were already expanded on.

I personally wouldn't like all the politics that would have to take place
