Would it have been more interesting if Naruto had tournaments?

I would've liked just one more battle-royale like arc. Luckily I choose to believe the Chunnin Exam filler arc with Gaara the Kazekage is canon...so I have more.

But any excuse to have more match-ups would've been nice. Killer Bee VS Guy. A VS Tsunade, Sai VS Sakura, Yamato VS Mifune etc. Just friendly matches like that with higher abilities and newer characters.

no, because the lethality of their jutsu get watered down & ruined plot-armor.
and as they would've gotten stronger, the effort to tone it down would have started to affect the writing/bad writing
