Would Gaara

Would he have defeated Deidara that time they fought in the sand village? It looked like Gaara was gonna win but Deidara attacked the village below because he knew gaara was going to leave himeself wide open. But lets say when they fought that time it was a different location, would the results be the same or would Gaara take it home?

No. Gaara had the major terrain advantage, plus Deidara was never trying to kill him, and even admits later on that it's difficult not doing so. We don't know what would've happened if Deidara didn't try to nuke Suna, but if he was aiming to kill and/or wasn't fighting Gaara in a desert I doubt he wouldn't win.

ES Gaara wasn't ready for that fight.

Deidara would win regardless. He still had C4 up his sleeve and Gaara literally wouldn't know what him when the bombs went off. If Deidara managed to chalk up a dub against Gaara despite being relatively unprepared, he would win period imo.

Deidara had intel on Gaara and on top of that he was prepared for a battle against a host and a Kage nonetheless. Deidara also admits that he underestimated Gaara and claims that he came unprepared as he barely had enough clay for the fight. Deidara does claim that killing Gaara was more difficult than he at first thought, but he never states that he would have lost. However, had they been fighting anywhere other than the Sand Village, Gaara would have won at the time. Deidara's last attack and the killing blow was only successful because he attack the village and made Gaara focus elsewhere.

I think if Deidara had fought the same way he fought against Sasuke and by that i mean going literally all out, but also somewhere with not much sand, then in my opinion he would win.
