Would Edo Itachi be any help against Edo Madara and Obito?

Could it be that Itachi knew that Madara was going to resist the Edo Tensei release? It could be that Itachi knew that if he fought against Madara, he would lose which is why he left Madara to the rest of the villages. Itachi may be able to defeat Obito but he would somehow lose against Madara.

Agreed in a sense, however you have to remember that even if he did fight it wouldn't be a case of him soloing, it would be a case of him bring his Intelligence and skill set which would help the team in different scenarios during the fight. Which would potentially change the outcome.

Well, I'm not sure but wasn't Itachi referring to Tobi as Madara at the time? Or did he know Tobi wasn't really Madara?

That's also true, good point. But I have a hunch that Madara would still somehow get rid of Itachi. As much as Madara talks alot about himself, he also possesses alot of power and is not a man to underestimate. It's like Itachi said himself, "When you become strong, you become arrogant." We also have to consider their susano, Perfect Susano > Susano w/ Totsuka Sword + Yata Mirror OR Perfect Susano < Susano w/ Totsuka Sword + Yata Mirror. I personally think, Edo Madara > Edo Itachi just by an inch but I also appreciate different views.

This, pretty much. Regardless of whether you think they'd win with Itachi, we've already seen how strong an asset Itachi is to Naruto and Bee when they fought Nagato. Saying he wouldn't help is just... unintelligent.

Untrue. Huge level difference can often be a hindrance e.g. Ino and Kakuzu resulting in Kakashi being handicapped.
