Would alien life lead to food disputes?

I mean, there are other life forms in this universe on our planet and we call them animals, but we are more related to some animals than those animals are related to other ones, we are basically wakling monkeys, an animal just like all the rest.

So if alien life exists out there on some other planet, and it's not just bacteria in some waterpool maybe they are basically like other animals, just like we come from apes, maybe there are aliens who comes from reptiles?

But if we meet creatures so different from us but just as "sophisticated" meaning they have technology like we do, will we begin to question how we treat other animals here on earth?

I know we probably assume we are friendly towards animals but are we really? If we treated humans like we treat pets, are we still friendly?

And will we morally be able to systematically slaughter and eat creatures that are different when we know these creatures if evolution kicks in could be just as sophisticated as us?

I remember some futurama episode where they came to the conclusion that it was only ok to eat animals that were stupid, the joke was that they ate a dolphin that wasted his money on lotterytickets.

We can't even live peacefully with people from other ethnicities without discriminating them. Expecting humans to integrate with alien life would be even more futile imo. I don't think food would figure into it.

We aren't like monkeys, it's just that humanity chooses to compare themselves with monkeys. It's selective favoritism.

OT: I believe it would lead to food disputes to a certain degree. For instance; Humans may be pissed off if the carnivorous reptile aliens decided they wanted to eat the apes, the monkeys and the lemurs but humans have eaten alligators, crocs, snakes, etc. Albeit, eating those creatures aren’t as popular as eating cows, chickens and pigs but it transpires nonetheless. Ultimately, exceptions will have to be made.

Humans will try to preserve those species from being devoured into extinction, but the carnivorous reptilian aliens may not take ‘no’ for an answer. The aliens may also demand to eat domesticated dogs and cats, which will certainly cause an uproar in some parts of the world. And if they’re just as intelligent as us, if not smarter - because they did travel to our planet, then we have to negotiate and make compromises.

Or we could try to run them off of our planet and risk the possibly of being invaded by an enemy that has an unknown amount of troops, weapons and allies from other worlds, which could take over our entire planet’s food supply and leave us with nothing.

I don’t know how climate change out of that but as intelligent creatures capable of a great many things, preservation of animal life is arguably a responsibility. Poachers and hunters have already eradicated copious species of animals that would still exist currently if it weren’t for human existence.
