The reason for sharingan is emotion. And through emotion, uchihas gain more power. Thus making the user unstable.

Its meant to be wild. If a hyuga gains sharingan, he/she would lose control of its power since its emotionally driven.

Hyuga's chakra control has been hyped to be the best in the manga, and mangyeko sharingan techs are known to be streinous and taxing. Probably that's what the OP is refering to, that they could use it while limiting the drawbacks because of their superior chakra control.
