parents being killed by humans, vs. parent being eaten by creepy, giant, smiling monster. idk, guess they are crazy.

EDIT: if it were to happen now, i'd agree, the horror within the walls would be more traumatizing than the titan, but they had been safe for a 100 yrs. they knew nothing of that threat first hand.
