Don't people on 4Chan screw up people's lives occasionally?
That's their profession , lel. I still remember when they screwed Paypal, Vista and MasterCard after they rejected donations for WikiLeaks.
I'm going to defend 4chan here. 4chan isn't /b/, nor is it /pol/. Yes, they sound very offensive, but that's kind of the point. Without user identities, reputations or strict rules, you get to have discussions with people, not the politically correct versions of them. Posting anonymously, I can be sure whoever I'm arguing with is giving me his real opinion.
That itself is the point of 4chan.
At some point you are right but the fame for 4chan comes from /b/ section as well as that whole Anonymous hacker swarms where is full of trolls and kids in age of 14 to 16 who are wanna-be hackers and can't do anything else besides DOS'ing and destroying people lives. Yeah.
That's assumes the whole fame and popularity of this community.
Funny. Because only members can actually play OSRS, therefore the community in there isn't bad, anyway.
Every game is going to be filled with trolls. I play with trolls all the time when I'm scrimming in Halo, that's a given, and RS now isn't bad because who the hell plays it anymore? I still have two of my level 100's in OSRS. I walk around Varrock in W1 and no one trolls me or follows me and I'm walking around with expensive shit equipped, same exact shit in RS3.
Now, I'm not totally disagreeing with you because I remember it back then and it was bad, but as it got to 2008 and up it stopped.
Well that's probably because you have a high level with experience and you would kill them with one hit if needed so I'm not surprised. That being said I was playing this game for like 30 min when I was younger and decided to not play it as it was boring. I must check out the latest version which seems pretty impressive.
In my personal opinion, the League of Legends community. Somehow, a majority of your teams comprise of people who act just as hateful, racist, and toxic than even the most 'popular' of political video youtube comments.
The kicker though, is you have to spend up to an hour with these people in a game where team play is key to success. Not enough time to build a group dynamic and just enough time for you to quickly lose your patience and respect for the game.
That's why some people just play with their friends from real life not some random people online. That being said that tactic eliminates about 90% - 95% of shit which you need to go through when you play online.
The Call of Duty community is the worst imo

The another bad community is within so called "Tibia" players. When you start playing there are thousand of trolls, toxic people and player who just block you if they see you have some problem with defeating enemy and at the end when you die they take all of yours dropped items. A lot of kids plays this game too.
