what if Masashi pulled a 'LOST' on us and finished it with them all being dead. The ninja war didn't happen. They were dead after Nagato attacked the hidden leaf or something like that.

He'd have to run out of ideas before that would happen. Ya just never know with Masashi though.

No, I don't think that would happen. Anything that is a thought or a memory/flashback, Kishimoto clearly shows. And though he has embraced the idea of "time-manipulation" jutsu, it is hardly likely that he would have painted this whole picture from one person's dream or fantasy as the point of the view of the series is clearly third person omniscient.

Besides, the genre of Naruto isn't Science Fiction, it is Action and Adventure.

There's just so many flash backs (just like LOST. ahh!). you just never no. you think you've figured out the story then masashi throws a curve ball on ya.
I'm pretty sure Orochimaru's gonna come back though. Kabuto wants to drain Anko's chackra because it's oro's. I think oro's chakra is forcing it's will opon kabuto. Not that he'd mind much. Oro was a smart mutha as well. Devious i should say.

I'm partial to the *madara's dead* theory too. He has the ability to hop through dimensions and junk and when he rips his arm off against Danzo's boyz it's white goo or mist that comes out. not blood (unless it was censored).
