shadow clones get a bad rep because naruto usually makes dozens which die with one blow... however hiruzen's did not and naruto's clones from a km clone actually survived a hit from madara's susanoo without dispersing. they're impossible to distinguish so they're the best for me.

offensively the best clones are the raiton clones. itachi's exploding clone is up there as well.

durability wise, mokuton first, sand second.

I said about (1) shadow clone can only be recognised also by EMS. Sasuke, Itachi, Obito didn't know which was Naruto clone and which not.

Well that would depend on who's fighting and:

Given that both clones require the EMS to differentiate them from the caster, the former likely divides chakra equally too.
Basically a more versatile and in most cases, durable counterpart to the Shadow Clone. (It'd come down to who's fighting)

If Hashirama made both a Wood Clone and Shadow Clone, to fight each other, the former would likely win.

I think wood clone requires a bit more than shadow clone.
