If Gai has damaged Madara that badly, wouldn't Naruto+Sasuke+Powerups be overkill?

He will probably get his Rinnegan back. Not sure about how he will heal though especially with Gai all over him. I just hope Kishi doesn't step on Gai's character just to make Madara look better.
