I wouldn't say do. Up to this point, we were never told if his brother . So there legitimately isn't any real reason why kishi would introduce him unless he is going to be relvent. I personally think he may be the hyuga and uzumaki ancestor

I believe this as well, the Hyuga had to get their eye prowess from somewhere, same with the Uzumaki. But they didn't come from Hagoromo (or at least at this point we know that the Hyuga didn't) so the other brother is the only option.

Hmm, Well.. I think it makes sense that he's the Hyuga's ancestor.. but I think that since the younger brother is "possesing" Naruto, the Uzumaki clan, and thus Naruto is a direct decendant of him..

But perhaps the brother of the sage was the ancestor of Hyuga.. And perhaps the byakugan is the "original" eye's they were born with - or perhaps what's left once all the Juubi's chakra was removed and given from the brother to the sage.
If any of those two scenarios happened - and he then had "the original eyes" (byakugan in this theory) - it would make sense that his decendants had them

indeed. People saying the hyuga aren't related to Ootosuki family in some way is just stupid; since the Byakugan has been referred to as being part if the "Three Great Dojutsu" and this distinction definitely means something, since we've seen many other dojutsus and they're never called that.
