If he had, everything that has been happening in regards to ruining Obito's plan, would've been inverted, it would simply not have happened.

Naruto..

• Killed of / Participated in the Killing/disposal or several Akatsuki Members
• Turned Pein against Obito
• Told everyone Tobi wasn't the real Madara (After Edo-Madara showed up)
• Greatly participated in the Revealing of Tobi being Obito (Acted as the diversion + attacks)
• Beat Obito in an all-out-fight, including Obito having 6 Biijus on his side
• Is currently ruining Obito's plan by not only delaying Obito (fighting/talking), but also by attempting to completely bring down the Juubi, which is the key to Obito's ~20 year old plan
