I treat women how i would like to be treat...Unless they screw me over, then i treat like i would treat a scum bag..
That's a great question. In my opinion, science and technology are perhaps the greatest factors in our strides toward gender equality. With modern tools women can do everything men can do, and vice versa (short of birthing a child). Additionally, greater public education systems (that allow women) have provided more opportunities for advancement.
As do I, but why hasn't this mentality been thought of until recently?I think they should be treated normally. Gender should be no reason to treat each other differently.
I suppose I could respect your beliefs, they're within realistic conditions. I especially agree with your last thought, I always see people being hypocritical yet they're completely oblivious to it. Unfortunately, no amount of education could change that mentality.I view women the same way i view men: fellow human beings. I believe that women should have the same rights as men and arent just *** objects.
While I dont think men should hit women or beat them, if a woman hits a man, he should have the right to hit her back. However, i dont believe in a man going overboard with it.
I also think if a woman dresses and acts like a slut, thats what she deserves to be treated as. Dont wear clothes that have your tits and ass hanging out, then get angry when a man stares.
Heh, but yes. You treat every person equally ._. Care to answer some of the other questions in my OP?I treat women how i would like to be treat...Unless they screw me over, then i treat like i would treat a scum bag..

Just a thought: but i feel like the reasons women are sometimes treated badly by men is a deep seeded religous problem, and wont be fixed easily. A big reason SOME women act like entitled *******s is because theyve been through years of inferiority (similar to a way some african americans act, with slavery bein that inferiority). And to an extent, i can understand why they will sometimes act entitled, i don't think it's right, but i admit to contributing towards it. The way i see it, if youve been really close with a girl for most of your life then you tend to treat her like a bro, but if you've just met a girl you'll probably be careful about what you say. An example: you are merting your girlfriend/close friends parents, which one do you greet first? If the mother is cooking dinner, you offer some assistance, whereas if the father is barbecuing, you more then likely make small talk with him and drink a beer instead of offering some help.
Also, when we act like a **** to a guy, its generally some kinda alpha male thing, or you just hate his guts. But if you **** around to a girl, its generally because you have some kind of inferiority complex, and need to pick on someone weaker then you (these scenarios imply you have just met either person).
But in the end, the majority of misogyny is DEEPLY rooted in religion.
[1]Why are some women treated the way they are? [2]Do you agree with said method? [3]How come they were looked down on in history? [4]Maybe there's something we don't know? >.>
[1]I honestly think some women are treated the way they are because of how they carry themselves; Dress/Act like a smut, be treated like a smut.
[2]Yes i do, i believe that if you should carry yourself in a respectful manner then others will treat you with respect.
[3]The history we know, is Man's history, Women are notoriously known for being at Home, not necessarily being involved in anything revolutionary...
[4]Possibly,as i've said, The History we know is the History of the Man that has Won the battle; There is still many other view points that have not been explored....
[1] & [2] Somewhat agree with this, if you're going by looks then I'd have to disagree. There's a large group of people who see themselves as "superior" to anyone who isn't more physically appealing than them. Even if they're inferior in other categories like intelligence. Therefore, since they look and carry themselves in an "alpha male" sense, they feel they should be respected. If you're going by personality, then I agree 100% :3
[3] & [4]Yeah, but let me ask you this.. Why? Why were they not partaking in anything revolutionary? I mean, they were there.. They knew what was happening? How come they didn't help?
I'm not going necessarily by looks, ii'm just using that as an example..
[3] & [4]; I honestly do not know; Maybe religion?
Religion has it that women are supposed to be committed and submit themselves to their husband.
Also as far as i know tradition has it that men are the hunters and gathers, while women tend to the children and the house...
But who knows why women don't take a stand...Become important leaders of our History, Suppression?
It's amazing how much religion shaped society ._. who would've thought.. Kind of funny how every serious thread here on General Discussion relates back to religion.

Thats the way the world works i guess. People need something to hold on to, let em have it, but dont let it be so damn influential

Care to elaborate the vague term religion and the revolutions women didn't participate in?
As far as my country is concerned, women here have fought in battles, lead armies, were involved in writing religious scriptures, and paritipated in the revolutions all through history- when they were able to get a chance.
Most of these women, however, belonged to royal families etc or were daughters/wives of known scholars and so on. In short- women who were more able to get proper education or training in other skills. Not many women get that opportunity.
For the most part in history women were trainined only in the skills which helped in home making.
Women were not encouraged to opt for higher education and in techical fields all over the wrold. They were told their first priority was getting married and then take care of the people in it.
Well, where I'm from (U.S.A.) going by my History Textbooks xD.. All the wars and the revolution our country fought in, there were no accounts of women partaking in any event. At times, it'd even remind us that only men fought in said war. Also, all the great inventors and the people who came up with new ideas were also all men (obviously due to the whole education system for men) but it's just strange to see how Women in my country were suppressed for over 1000 years and only recently got the same political rights as men, some men still don't see women as socially equal. In the role of equality, shouldn't there be more to it rather than intelligence? Because these days it seems to be the opposite, it doesn't matter if you're smart or dumb (at least, that's how it is for teenagers like myself)
May I ask where you live? Your history seems interesting xD.
[EDIT] As far as your last edit goes "Most of this advancement can be creditted to the two world wars, ironic as it maybe." Well, there's been previous large scale wars in the past multiple times.. How come only recently women took advantage of the situation per say and started taking roles in society other than taking care of the child?
