Kim Davis was put in jail for not providing a marriage license to a gay couple. When did standing up for your beliefs lead to jail time? The world man, it's just getting worse
So do the multiple police that shoot and kill innocent blacks but get off Scott free. Yet they get a slap on the wristIt's against the law. She works for the government. The government is no place to throw in your beliefs. I am glad she got removed.
So she should have been thrown in jail for what she believed in? Is it not in the constitution of seperation of church and state? Is the freedom of religion not in the constitution? You shouldn't work at a place which gives out marriage licences, if you're not willing to give out marriage licences.
Here we go....So do the multiple police that shoot and kill innocent blacks but get off Scott free. Yet they get a slap on the wrist
????If you wanted a chic fil a sandwich but got denied cause you were left handed and the employee was raised to hate left handed people and it was their belief would it be ok to deny you that sandwich.
Bottom line is theyre being paid to do something and refusing to do what they're being paid to do
Jail time is too much. They should just force her to resign.????
Freedom of religion is in the constitution yet she was throw in jail.
She shouldn't have to do anything. America's law system is a joke anyway. This reminds me of another thread were gays were refused a wedding cake and sued for emotional distress and now swimming in cashJail time is too much. They should just force her to resign.
You misunderstand what freedom of religion is. Freedom of religion allows you to choose, believe in, and practice the religion of your choice. This does not give you the right to impede on the safety or rights of others in the name of your religion. If your religious practice impedes on safety and rights, then it is not upheld by the constitution for you not to be stopped and see consequences.????
Freedom of religion is in the constitution yet she was throw in jail.
Because of her belief. Don't come in here with your bias. Cops shoot blacks all the time with empirical evidence held against them and they get suspension with pay.Yeah no, don't twist it. She was jailed for failing to uphold government laws and complete her duties as an elected government official.
So then it is not a paradox that she has to go against her religion to do her job? That means she must put her beliefs to the side to be forced to do something. I can (now) see her resigning but she was put in jail. You misunderstand what freedom of religion is. Freedom of religion allows you to choose, believe in, and practice the religion of your choice. This does not give you the right to impede on the safety or rights of others in the name of your religion.
That has nothing to do with this though. That is an entirely different issue with its own corruption. If you have a problem with the corruption going on with police officers getting away with violating rights and safety, shouldn't you be glad there was no corruption that caused Kim Davis to get away with violating the rights of others? What exactly are you trying to say, that because corrupt officers get away murder, she should get away with her own crime and shortcomings? What sense does that make?Because of her belief. Don't come in here with your bias. Cops shoot blacks all the time with empirical evidence held against them and they get suspension with pay.
Wtf does freedom of religion have to do with her job????
Freedom of religion is in the constitution yet she was throw in jail.
