Without Orochimaru

I was just pondering, if Orochimaru had never bit Sasuke in the Chunin exam and got drunk with power

would he have stayed in the village and not turned "to the dark side"?

Sasuke's goal was always revenge. He was bound to stray from the village eventually.

Sasuke would have still gone after Itachi for revenge, but without Orochimaru He be under powered and have died at Itachi hand.

orochimaru was just a means to get more power for sasuke, without him i think sasuke would just find another way to get power.

also remember that the trigger for sasuke leaving was not orochimaru, it was him meeting itachi and realising that he is still to weak to match him.
