Okay, let's begin with the basics. Tell me everything you know about Shakujo no Kyū-Setsu. Just the style, not the techniques. Tell me the facts that you know and your opinion on it. Give as much detail as you can. If you need help, here's some examples of what to write about:
-How it's used
-Versatility
-What drew you to the style (why you want to learn it)
-What are some drawbacks to the style
-Anything else you find interesting about the style itself (in general)

How it's Used: Hm, there are two specific sub-style within this Fighting Style. They are the bound, and range style. First off, the Shakujo is a staff-like weapon that is shaped like a ring on the tip, and multiple rings attached to that single, and larger ring. The idea behind this style, inspired by the Sage of the Six Paths, is to manipulate these rings through chakra of course, and utilizing it in battle for either offensive, or defensive purposes. So, bound style, as the name suggests, is using the staff as the main subject for fighting but having the rings as a 'support' of sorts to augment attacks and is based more on kenjutsu rather than ninjutsu. They increase attack damage through the usage of chakra and manipulating it during combat, like causing it to rotate ferociously and quickly, giving it a slicing property. I think it would be most useful against Kenjutsu users, because you can use the rings to disarm, or weaken the sword and the staff itself should be naturally more powerful than a normal katana. As for the range style, i myself also prefer it more than the bound style because it's more safe, and i don't really like normal taijutsu. Well, i like normal taijutsu, but i don't use it as often to get good at it. Anyways, the range style focuses on using chakra to freely manipulate the rings of the shakujo, and obviously, it is based more on ninjutsu. With each attack, the shakujo rings would split apart from the actual staff and hover in air. It acts as its own source of chakra, where it takes your chakra and can use it to attack, or defend, which is incredibly useful because you are not required to constantly fuel these rings with chakra to use. Attacks from these rings are versatile, they can be used to block projectiles, defend or attack like shurikens; it depends on the techniques you created.

Versatility: I believe this technique is extremely versatile. There is two applications to it, bound and ranged and the shakujo itself can be used freeformly, as a weapon. Versatility from bound style comes from the ability to use it kind of like a sword, while the rings add onto the attack with the rings which makes it more useful in terms of combinations and normal freeform, or kenjutsu-like techniques. The versatility of the Ranged style comes from the ability to manipulate them using chakra to travel and hover, and because the rings are not complex items, you can use it for different purposes. Also, you can use them individually without having to supply it with chakra which allows you to attack while the rings attack on its own. Basically, it has two different ways of using the style, and even more versatile ways of using these two different ways, which makes it soo flexible in battle. (If that even makes sense, lol)

What drew you to the style: Well, i already have a staff CFS, as you know, and a staff CW that can turn into a Shakujo, so I think this style would be useful for me! As for why i'm interested in it, i think it's cool because of the ranged aspect which is extremely rare, and the well-developed customs under this style.

What are some drawbacks of this style: I would say carrying around the Shakujo, as it is a fairly large weapon. I don't really see any other disadvantages to this style. xD

Anything else that's interesting about this style? The jutsus you created for the style are great! Especially the purgatory one. xD

Well, Purgatory is last <.< So we'll get there eventually...

So, for the first technique I'd like you to perform it and give a run-down on anything you see at first glance - strengths, weakness, uses, etc. This was one of the original techniques without a cool name, so I'll just see what you think of it and then add whatever I see necessary.

(Saisho no Uta: Kaiten Burēdo) - First Verse: Rotating Blades
Rank: B
Type: Offensive | Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: 40
Description: The user channels their chakra through their Shakujo, which causes the loose rings at the end of their staff to appear to "stand up", as if they were repelled by some force at the center of the ring which binds them to the staff. With each individual ring flattening against the fixture they're bound to on the end of the staff (so that it looks similar to the picture below, with no overlapping rings), each ring then begins to spin at high speeds. As each ring spins the sheer speed the metal material gains appears to give it a sharp quality, allowing the spinning rings to easily cut through C-rank and below Wood Style techniques, and even more solid materials such as Earth Style and steel swords or Steel Style. Kenjutsu of any rank may be used with the "sharp", spinning rings, but if a section of the staff rather than the rings makes contact with something, obviously there will be no cutting power.
Note: ~Can only be taught by the master of Shakujo no Kyū-Setsu
~Can only cut C-rank and below techniques and objects without chakra

Yeah, I realized the techniques got progressively cooler. :p

So, from what I can tell, the rings stand up around the ring, unswerving as if they were held up by an invisible hand and they line up so it is positioned flat against the ring, basically like the picture. Each individual ring begins to spin at fast speeds, and because of their shape and thin nature, they could act as a disc and slice through things with ease. Using it in conjunction with kenjutsu would be the most useful because the spinning metals would have enough power to slice through a regular katana, or so that's what I think. It's a basic and straightforward technique, and it can cut through C-rank and below techniques (physical techniques, I guess), and normal objects without rank or chakra.

Yeah, it was designed to fight against Kenjutsu users as the shaft of the Shakujo is longer than a katana blade, and the rings can cut through katanas. Once again, it's a basic technique, and it's essentially the "Bound Style" in a nutshell. Anything else you want to do with the Bound Style is derived from this.

Now, I'll keep the top guns for last <.< Which means we're moving onto the Third Verse:
(Saisan no Uta: Dansu Ringu) - Third Verse: Dancing Rings
Rank: C
Type: Offensive | Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 15 (-5 per turn)
Damage Points: 30
Description: The user channels their chakra through the rings of the Shakujo and causes the rings to separate from the main staff and float around the stationary ring which previously bound them. The user can then manipulate the six rings in the air to deflect average and basic chakra-infused weapons, the ring returning to the staff on its own afterwards. Each ring individually has no more strength than a freeform, chakra-infused kunai, but they may be manipulated freely and can hang in the air around the Shakujo as the user performs other techniques.
Note: ~Can only be taught by the master of Shakujo no Kyū-Setsu
~Lasts 3 turns, or until the user calls the rings back to their Shakujo

Alright, so a few aspects of this technique. The rings hover around the main staff of the Shakujo if you aren't commanding them to do otherwise at any moment in time. They can be manipulated individually in free-form, and are equivalent to (but much more convenient than) kunai/shuriken/etc. The rings may hover and be manipulated even as you are performing other techniques. The rings can extend up to mid-range from the Shakujo staff. Also, one aspect of the rings that I really like is that you can position the rings in such a way that you can step on them like stairs or platforms, allowing you to "fly", or create a platform to launch yourself off of "thin air" if you're mid-air and need to move position (kind of like how anime characters can jump off of air itself, only you have a reasonable explanation for how you're jumping on "air"). If you have a high-speed movement technique, you could potentially position the rings in a large arc up in the air and jump off of the rings individually, bypassing simple counters like changing the ground's consistency (mud), or a powerful directional blast forwards.

Now, any questions? Any uses that jump out at you when looking at the technique or my description?

What rank could they defend against alltogether?

The rings hover around the main staff of the Shakujo if you aren't commanding them to do otherwise at any moment in time.
What if you previously sent it out towards a target, and it is now mid-range from you. You stop commanding it, does it stay in that area or does it return to your area to hover around the main staff?

And what jumps out - i like the passively being able to manipulate/make the rings float around the battlefield within mid-range. This, theoretically, would allow you to float in the air anywhere, as long as you are holding the main staff xD It's great for dodging, but to dodge other elemental/ninjutsu techniques, you'd have to use this technique specifically so you don't break the "Counter with a jutsu" rule. Also, this is a great way to disperse illusions through pain, and it can be used sneakily too.

They'd be able to defend against C-rank, because the technique is of C-rank (of course, a large-scale C-rank would go by the six relatively small rings :|). The rings also return to your Shakujo if you're not commanding them - it's their "default setting".

(Saishi no Uta: Roku-Ten Kanma) Fourth Verse: Six-Point Barrier
Rank: A
Type: Defense | Supplementary
Range: Short (of user)
Chakra Cost: 30 (-10 per turn)
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user, after either having their rings already released from the Shakujo for a separate technique, or by releasing them specifically for this technique, will have each ring align itself in a hexagonal formation in front of them. The rings will then release chakra from themselves towards the other rings, creating a thin barrier of condensed chakra with advanced enough shape manipulation that the barrier can withstand up to A-rank attacks. The barrier may be adjusted as the user wishes, gesturing with the staff portion of their Shakujo where the rings, and by extension the barrier, will move, and can even be used to lift the user into the air and hover so long as they wish. The barrier's diameter is wider than the user's height by only a few inches.
Note: ~Can only be taught by the master of Shakujo no Kyū-Setsu

So, you position your rings into a hexagonal formation, and they then release chakra towards each other to create a solid barrier of chakra which plays on par with elemental techniques. This shield may be directed as you wish by pointing the staff of your shakujo to direct it. You can even stand on the shield and cause it to fly around, defending you from below as you fly. And that's the basics of this technique: any qusetions or usages that jump out?

(Saigo no Uta: Rin'ne) Fifth Verse: Saṃsāra
Rank: A
Type: Offensive
Range: Short-Long
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage Points: 60
Description: Building upon the Shuriken Shadow Clone Jutsu, the user will release the rings from their Shakujo (or manipulate them once already released) towards the opponent. Then the user will strike the ground with the Shakujo's staff and clap the fist holding their Shakujo with their free hand. After making the improvised handseal, the rings will multiply and create a large wall of thousands of rapidly rotating projectile rings flying towards the opponent. After the barrage of rings, all but six will disappear, and those six will fly back to the Shakujo, reconnecting and falling limp afterwards.
Note: ~Can only be taught by the master of Shakujo no Kyū-Setsu
~Can only be used twice per battle
~The user cannot use any Shakujo no Kyū-Setsu techniques for two turns after using this jutsu

This is where things get interesting. So, you send the rings flying towards your opponent, and then make an improvised handseal to multiply the rings seemingly-endlessly to form a wall that is both long-range in height, long-range in width, and travels across the battlefield in a straight line. Basically, the only way it can be dodged is going underground/getting behind your opponent after the rings are moving but before they've multiplied. Otherwise you have to defend.
The rings are all rapidly spinning so as to replicate a "sharp" or "cutting" effect. Also, at the end of the technique, any six random rings remain - there are no "true" rings, and as such it doesn't matter which ones are destroyed, if any, so long as 6 remain they will return to the Shakujo at the end of the technique. Finally, just for the naming - Samsara is the repeating cycle of birth, life and death (reincarnation) as well as one's actions and consequences in the past, present, and future. I felt it fit a technique which replicated (repeated) the rings over and over near-endlessly.

Any question or comments you'd like to make?

A question: Can you manipulate the position of these rings? Like having each ring positioned into six different areas, so the multiplied rings would come from different areas? (Of course, the "thousands" of rings would be divided equally between the six)

Then we shall move on:

(Sairoku no Uta: Inga) Sixth Verse: Karma
Rank: A
Range: Short-Long
Type: Supplementary | Defensive | Offensive
Chakra: 30
Damage: 60
Description: The user, after having the rings of their Shakujo separated either from an earlier technique or specifically for this jutsu, will have their rings begin to spin at high speeds before sending them directly at their opponent. It would appear as though the rings had the goal of slicing the opponent once they got there because of the speed and direction they take, but this is not the case. Once they reach the opponent, they begin to orbit the person in an elliptical fashion. This can best be described by looking at how an electron orbits its nucleus. Because of the number of different rings orbiting, the opponent is essentially trapped in one location for moving would ensure a dismembered limb or two. After activation of the jutsu, the technique becomes self-sustaining, like the Rasengan, freeing the user to do as they wish. Because of the metallic nature of the rings, the technique is even more dangerous as it conducts lightning extremely well - so well, in fact, that unfocused lightning used by the one trapped in the technique will be conducted between the moving rings, interconnecting all of them and shocking the target (who is within the orbit of all the rings) to death.
This technique can also be used by the user around himself. If the Shakujo's staff is at the epicenter of the orbital paths of the rings, they will move with the Shakujo's movements, allowing the user to move without cutting himself. The high-speed movement of the rings allow them to defend against larger-scale solid assaults (the hand of the Stone Golem, for example) while it's useless against smaller or intangible attacks (a barrage of senbon or water/wind/fire attacks, for example), as well as being able to defend against close-combat fighting. However, this defensive property applies if used on an opponent as well, though the rings don't move with them.
Note: ~Can only be taught by the master of Shakujo no Kyū-Setsu
~Lasts for two (2) turns before the rings return to the Shakujo automatically

So, this technique was one of the winners of my contest. I took it, tweaked it, and made an interesting defensive technique. So, first thing to note is that this technique is self-sustaining, meaning that once the rings are orbiting, you are free to use other techniques without canceling this one. It also means that the technique doesn't draw chakra for every turn you're using it. Second thing to note is that there is no restriction on how many times you can use it, nor is there a restriction on how long you have to wait to use it again. The third is how this technique can be used two different ways: as protection for yourself, or as confinement for your opponent. As protection, this technique is rather lame - it only protects against solid objects, and only if they aren't tiny (I'd say it can defend against kunai and shuriken, but senbon can get through, as a rough idea). However, it's primarily intended to keep an opponent away from close-range, especially if you can't follow their movements by giving you an omnidirectional shield that will cut anyone that gets too close, regardless of your knowledge of them (made specifically for EIG).
Also, if you can use this technique and get sufficiently close to your target, you can use it again to quickly transfer the rings to your opponent and trap them in place. Really, this is best used in short-range to get your opponent, while having the option to help get you to short range (somewhat).

Any questions on this?

I loved how you added the chemistry reference in the description >.>

Just one for clarification. It's basically like a tornado around you (that reaches your height) but instead of the tornado, it is high-speed-spinning shakujo rings, right?

That was the guy who entered the contest. And yeah, that's basically it: Shakujo rings spinning really fast so that it can harm/protect, depending on the situation.

Anything else?

(Sainana no Uta: Jigoku) Seventh Verse: Naraka
Rank: A
Type: Offensive
Range: Mid-Long
Chakra Cost: 30 (-5 per turn)
Damage Points: 60
Description: The user will release the rings from their Shakujo (or manipulate them further if they're already released), and will send the rings into the sky. From there, the rings will all begin to spin as the user channels his Katon chakra into the rings. As the rings spin, they will generate a multitude of small fireballs, about the size of a ping-pong ball, which will fly in every direction and rain down on the ground. Due to the spacing of the rings and the range of the fireballs from each ring, the only safe place is a meter radius circle around the Shakujo's staff, which will cause the floating rings to move with it (meaning if the user, holding the staff, walks forwards, the rings above will move so that the user remains safe). When the technique ends, the rings will remain in the air for a second after they finish spewing flames before returning to the Shakujo.
Note: ~Can only be taught by the master of Shakujo no Kyū-Setsu
~Can only be used twice per battle
~Requires two turn minimum in between usages
~Lasts 3 turns, or until canceled
~The user can only use Katon and chakraless techniques while active

Okay, so now we're raining death upon people. You just send the rings up into the sky and cause them to spin, sending your katon chakra to them as they float. The rings then produce small fireballs that fall down and burn everything except for you and a small circle around you. And yeah, it's just fire falling from the sky - not much to it. It's like that one Nekura technique, but with fire. Just be mindful of the time gap between ending and the rings coming back.
So any questions, comments, etc.?

(Saihachi no Uta: Kāma-Dhātu) Eighth Verse: Desire Realm
Rank: S
Type: Offensive | Supplementary
Range: Short-Long
Chakra Cost: 40 (-5 per sphere per turn) (-20 per sphere regeneration)
Damage Points: 80
Description: The user, after having the rings of their Shakujo separated either from an earlier technique or specifically for this jutsu, will have their rings begin to spin, but differently than normal. Normally, the rings spin along their own circular formation, which would make the ring appear to not be moving at all if one doesn't look closely. This is normally done to make the edges hot with friction and cause it to gain a type of cutting quality. The Kāma-Dhātu has the rings spin on a different axis so quickly that it almost looks like they've formed into small spheres instead of being simply rings from the blurring effect from the high-speed rotation (as if you took a ring or coin and spun it on its side on a table top) [see video below for further explanation]. As the rings spin, the users chakra is sent out to each ring equally and creates a field of chakra around the outside of each ring. As the rings spin, they move at a speed so fast that the chakra cannot cling to the physical being of the ring effectively, which creates a drag-like effect where the chakra from each ring is curved to such a high degree that the other end of the ring connects with the chakra "flowing" from the opposite end, creating a true sphere of chakra surrounding the spinning rings. Each sphere may then be controlled individually with strength granted by the constantly-rotating spheres of chakra equal to a B-rank technique of any element. When these spheres are damaged by C-rank and below techniques, the user may send more chakra to the damaged sphere to regenerate it and raise its strength back up to B-rank.
Note: ~Can only be taught by the master of Shakujo no Kyū-Setsu
~Can only be used twice per battle
~Must wait a three turn gap between uses
~Rings may return to the Shakujo at any time. Rings are forced to return if damaged by a B-rank technique. If they are damaged by an A-rank or above technique, the user must physically collect the ring as it can't "fly" back to the user being out of chakra
~Regeneration of spheres is a choice of the user's and counts as a move of their turn . Returning to the Shakujo staff if damaged by a C-rank or under technique (including no damage) is also a choice but doesn't count as a move. Rings which are returned to the staff or are damaged by A-rank and above techniques no longer count to the "-5 per sphere per turn" chakra cost
You must be registered for see links "> You must be registered for see links " type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always">

So I wasn't so sure this technique would get approved. Basically, you release the rings from your Shakujo and then cause them to spin as in the video. Sending chakra to the rings allows you to turn them into six mini flying Rasengans (each B-rank and playing equally with all elements). There is then a series of clauses described in the jutsu to explain what were to happen if one of the rings made contact with X or Y, etc. etc. It is a technique that you must continually fuel and manipulate, and you can even strengthen the technique once more if a ring becomes damaged. Honestly, this is a more damaging Dancing Rings with less supplementary purposes.
