You're a gen enthusiast you say but how enthused are you?

There's a condition that says you have to be a genjutsu specialist to perform this technique. Of course anybody can say "specialist" in their bio. However I can decide, prior to actually teaching you if I feel your on that level to call yourself one. This may sound pretentious of me, but I'd like to think that I'm descent enough at genjutsu to get by, just a lil bit.

We know this is a technique designed to release genjutsu but what is the logic behind the technique that allows you to break out of other genjutsu?

It's all good. I'd say I am at an "okay" level with Genjutsu, but I am always trying to enhance my skill by reading what I can.

The technique works by the logic of Layering Genjutsu, where if two techniques which conflict are layered, they cancel each other out (if they are equal in rank). If the techniques aren't the same rank, the higher ranking one prevails. Anyway, this technique of yours is multi-ranked, so for example, against an A rank, you will use the A rank version to break the illusion on you, by placing the Genjutsu on yourself.

Which canon method is just as effective as this jutsu in releasing genjutsu A-ranked and above?

A Curse Mark surge would break A rank and above with ease, as the foreign chakra floods into the affected person's body. In addition to the Curse Mark, entering Sage Mode and being a Jinchuuriki (where your Bijuu would break you out of it). Same logic applies, the foreign chakra enters the inflicted's body, and "resets" the chakra flow.

These methods would allow you to break out of any Genjutsu, bar MS and EMS grade Genjutsu.

That's not what I'm referring to.

Look at my technique and then evaluate which canon method is equally as effective as my jutsu when dealing with A-rank genjutsu and above (and higher tier genjutsu like Sharingan gen). What I'm asking is; capability and limitation wise which method is = to my technique at the aforementioned level.

Edit: I'll give you a hint

What is required in my technique at that level of genjutsu (A-rank and above).

Ha I am dumb, its the Kai technique z,z Since it requires a single hand seal to break A rank and above Genjutsu, depending on rank though.

Nice hint.

So in most general scenarios, this technique is only useful with regard to B-rank techniques and below, generally acting as a seal-less genjutsu kai for those ranks. Can you think of a scenario custom wise (can be hypothetical) where this technique would be better than kai for A-rank and above or dojutsu techniques?

Hmm, a custom scenario. Not really sure, as it would require a hand seal nonetheless, in both scenarios of Kai and your technique. I won't lie to you, I am drawing a blank right now :|. This could be due to my lack of knowledge in the Doujutsu Genjutsu area though z,z

Though I would like to hear what you have to say >,> I still have much to learn.

Recently, with some credit to my some of my own concepts and creations, some genjutsu have become impervious to certain types of release methods. For example, Chris has a technique that prevents the utilization of pain to break a genjutsu. I myself have a technique that prevents the use of kai and chakra surge methods on a relatively basic level (though the way to counter this is relatively easy). However in the case of the latter, even this technique wouldn't be optimal use since, like this one, the technique I'm referring to has a nature that circumvents conventional genjutsu rules and presents a case where this technique would actually not work in countering the specific effect neutralizes kai and chakra surge.

Though aside from that one anomaly, if you come across cases where genjutsu kai is ineffective because of a rule of the jutsu, you could use this as a substitute.

Woah, I actually encountered a Genjutsu today that stated it could only be broken by pain. An oldie custom lol. But thanks for clearing that up. Now I know (was planning on asking you anyway).

We can start with Genjutsu: Souzoubutsu Joushou Tora no Jutsu (Illusionary Technique: Manifest Rising Tiger Technique)..

Explain the technique and a proper method in which to use it against your opponent.

Alright. After forming the four hand seals, one induces an illusion on the opponent of four Bangle tigers rising from the ground below them. These Bangle tigers then pounce, in a certain formation, and lunge at the opponent, aiming to pin them down. Due to the heavy weight of the tigers, this would be quite easy since each weighs enough to take down a person, and there's four here, so.. Anyway, these tigers then also bite and claw at the opponent, where the area can also be specified by the caster, making it a bit more diverse. As stated before, within the illusion, the opponent is pinned to the ground. Now, in reality, the opponent would topple over as well, due to the force applied and the overall strength of the tigers. After two turns, the opponent is rendered unconscious due to trauma, which can be attributed to the pressure and the loss of blood.

The cool thing is that it doesn't limit what Genjutsu you can use in the same turn, so this would make for a great layering. The technique in itself lasts for up to two turns, making it even more useful, continuing to abuse the opponent if they can't break it. As they are pinned to the ground by force and pressure, forming a hand seal for Kai would be difficult (its like a pseudo paralysis), leaving them with only Pain release and a Surge (which would have to be S rank). Now, if one had first done an S rank Genjutsu, with some bad ass effects, and then this, which pins the opponent to the ground, they'd probably not be able to break it that easily. It's great to use in conjunction with techniques that happens almost immediately afterwards and emerges from the ground beneath them.
