Senpai reviews Sherlock’s performance of the previous two jutsus and adds on more info about them.

Now that I think of it, if I can’t track my enemy because of his speed, I’d better use Smoke and stuff to hide like you said.
I was waiting for this one lol. An earthquake tech is a must when you can do so much stuff with earth.


Senpai creates an earth clone and instructs Sherlock to perform the next two jutsus on the clone.

(Doton: Yochi no Douyou) - Earth Release: World Shaking

Performance: Sherlock focuses on his chakra. He begins gathering it and once he feels he has gathered and manipulated enough chakra into doton chakra, he releases it into the ground. In an instant, there’s a tremor below the clone and he loses his balance.

Uses: A good technique to distract the opponent, to buy time by getting the opponent off balance.

Counters/Drawbacks: Is useless against opponents that have flight ability. Although it’s not mentioned in the description, this tech cannot be performed if the user is not touching the ground.

Combinations: Can be used just before launching a projectile. This technique gets the opponent off balance and then the opponent might not get much time to counter the projectile.

Jutsu Rating: 4/10 Not very versatile tech.


(Doton: Dorosandan) – Earth Release: Mudshot

Performance: Sherlock once again builds up his Doton chakra. When he has built enough chakra built, he manipulates it and spits it out in the form of mud, at the surface below the clone. It forms a sticky patch that immobilizes the clone. Sherlock once again performs the same tech and this time aims for the clone’s face. It chokes the clone and the clone pffs away.

Uses: Useful to immobilize the enemy. Can even kill the enemy. Useful to slow down an advancing opponent by creating a sticky patch in his path.

Counters/Drawbacks: Can be easily dealt with by using a low ranked lightning tech or lightning armor techs that cover the user’s entire body with lightning.

Combinations: The user can aim for choking the opponent with this tech after immobilizing the opponent by techs like Water syrup or a powerful Genjutsu that takes over all of the opponent’s senses.

Jutsu Rating: 6/10


I remember you said CP won by using Swamp tech when you were using hiding like a mole tech. You fought him again later? Probably yes I think xD

NOTES ON Earth Release: World Shaking
Good on pretty much everything, not much to add since it is pretty basic and straightforward in its description. Once the enemy is off balanced there are a plethora of combos you could do from above or below preferably around their immediate area. I wouldn’t use thus to counter kunai unless you had specific plan to make em fall miss their technique and perform a combination attack, don’t forget to look at the ranges as this tech cant be used in long range.

NOTES ON Earth Release: Mudshot
Again I wouldn’t use this much to create sticky patches on the ground against those with sufficient Raition training but if they are lacking in that area it seems like a good choice. Particularly effective if you take out the users eye sight. Byakugan would still be able to see through it so you would want to make it so you use it in the choking sense.

Well done on your template didn’t have to add much for thes. Glad you’re thinking strategic instead of just attacking like when you said “slow advancing enemies down.” Sometimes you can’t always hit the enemy and you need to just slow it down so you can get a breather or an opening god work. Bout to go with 3 jutsus so get ready.


Now in that cave over there is a scarecrow I made for no good reason so get rid of by channeling your chakra into the cave and cause a sensitive area of the cave to dislodge making the entire cave cave in pun not intended. xD, this is strong because large caves could potentially do A rank damage but because it is not fueled by chakra it is still a C rank attack countered by C rank element, or D rank lightning still but if it can connect (with large cave or structure) the damage is A rank understand?

(Doton: Iwa Yado Kuzushi) - Earth Release: Stone Lodging Destruction

Range: Short-Long
Chakra cost: 15
Damage Points: N/A (up to 60)
Descripton: The user will do one hand seal and cause nearby earth structures (either natural occurring ones on the field (such as cave ceilings, cliffs, etc), man made (buildings, etc) or jutsu made (up to C-Rank active structures)) to collapse and fall. This technique allows the ninja to control nearby stone and rock and dislodge any vulnerable or sensitive spots, causing the structure to collapse. This can be especially useful if in a cave or a stone lodging. The technique can loosen the rocks and cause them to come raining down on whomever is trapped inside. The damage depends on the size of the cavern or rock lodging above or nearby the target and not on the amount of chakra used which doesn't need to be high. A large cave with a thick ceiling can easily do the physical damage equivalent to an A-Rank technique but due to the damage not being focused or chakra fueled, its also easily defendable.

These next two go together so I’ll explain them both together but you use separate templates okay? First you can turn the earth beneath your opponent into a river of move that causes them to be off balanced as they are carried away after you perform the tiger handseal. As they are being carried away you can create a dragon like head that fires at the off balanced enemy that fires concentrated mud bullets at the enemy after performing the needed handseals and manipulating the mud. Although normally used this way this can be used in any mud source not just this one. Again try this combo on my clone.

(Doton: Doryū Taiga) - Earth Release: Earth Flow River

This can also be combined with a fire jutsu to shoot lava toward an opponent. The dragon can be created from other mud techniques as along as a mud source is available.

Yeah I fought him much later but he didnt finish the fight >_>, anyway my Doton teacher was Ushiro. Great teacher but I was just eager to simply learn as many techs as I could so I could compete. Once I got to S rank I achieved my goal and became overconfident however my rush caused me to make many mistakes in the battlefield not just with doton but with other techs as well. My power would soon be as harmless as an E rank attack. Having power is useless if strategy and knowledge isn't behind it. This brings me to my first fight in an official war. Lets do this!

(Doton: Iwa Yado Kuzushi) - Earth Release: Stone Lodging Destruction

Performance: Sherlock stands in front of the cave from where he can see Senpai’s scarecrow. He then performs a single handseal. Quickly the weak areas of the cave dislodge and chunks of rocks come crumbling down from the cave’s ceiling and in around 10 – 20 seconds there is a pile of rocks where there once used to be a small cave.

Uses: Distract an opponent, break the opponent’s earth constructs, delay their usage of next jutsu, knock them out or potentially kill them.

Counters/Drawbacks: Won’t work if the opponent has a lightning armor on, won’t cause damage if the opponent has strong enough shield.

Combinations: Would work great with the technique in which the user first traps the opponent inside an earth dome and then the user can just use this tech to send the dome’s ceiling crashing down on the opponent.

Jutsu Rating: 5/10


(Doton: Doryū Taiga) - Earth Release: Earth Flow River

Performance: Sherlock performs the tiger handseal transforming the ground below Senpai’s clone into a “river” of mud causing him to lose balance and fall.

Uses: Can slow down an opponent by getting them off balance.

Counters/Drawbacks: Can be easily dealt with a Raiton jutsu. Isn’t very versatile.

Combinations: Can be used with earth dragon bullet. If somehow the user can have the opponent pinned in the mud and have the mud turn into lava with the appropriate fire jutsu, it can be used to kill the opponent. Probably put the opponent in a strong Genjutsu and have quickly turn the ground below them into mud and heat it up real quick. Probably using clones made before hand to fasten the entire process.

Jutsu Rating: 5/10

(Doton: Doryudan) - Earth Release: Earth Dragon Bullet

Performance: Sherlock then quickly performs the Ram → Horse → Dragon handseals and forms a dragon like head emerge from the mud river that fires mud bullets at the clone.

Uses: Can be used to cause burns to the opponent if used with fire.

Counters/Drawbacks: Not very strong if used without fire as they can simply be taken care of by a lightning shield. Needs a mud source.

Combinations: Can be combined with the fire projectiles.

Jutsu Rating: 3/10 Not very versatile, dependent on a source and not strong enough to cause damage on its own.





Ushiro’s a cool guy and a very skilled RPer. I’m training in Raiton with him. I can understand, having just one element mastered isn’t enough in our RP. One needs at least 3. You never thought of going for an Onoki or Muu bio? They are both Earth Specialists. And official war huh, sounds interesting. xD

Overall Imma need a little more detail on your performance of the jutsu’s as they’re getting a bit short no problem okay. ^^

NOTES ON Earth Release: Stone Lodging Destruction
Again not much to add; you stated that you can use this on earth constructs so there is nothing wrong there. Your counters are pretty valid. Most Raiton or defense based jutsus can help stop the rock from hitting them but if they were to be sitting on a golemn earthen creature for example and you managed to hit it and lower its rank enough to use this jutsu they cant stop it from crumbling using Raiton jutsu

NOTES ON Earth Release: Earth Flow River
Once they are off balanced you do not have to use the Dragon bullet jutsu but use another powerful jutsu to attack them. I’ll admit I haven’t used these a lot myself but I do try to try out different jutsus when I’m not in serious battles.

NOTES ON Earth Release: Earth Dragon Bullet
Kinda frustrating that not only does it need an earth source it needs a specific type of Earth source. You don’t want to waste time trying to create a mud source just for this jutsu when you have time to do something else. >_>, that’s where the previoud jutsu comes in but again this is another jutsu I haven’t used much.

Okay so I want you to trap me…yes me in a prison of rock pillars that will surround me by manipulating the ground below and around me to rise up into surrounding pillars. I’ll break out quickly using Raikiri as a melee attack.

Once I break out I will throw this kunai at you and you will channel your chakra below your immediate area to lift the ground out of the earth almost like a door rising from the ground to block the kunai.
(Doton: Doroku Gaeshi) - Earth Release: Earth Shore Return

Description: After striking the ground with their hands, the user manipulates the ground in front of him to form a slab that tilts upwards, up to 90º, creating a wall of earth that can defend from incoming frontal attacks. In addition, the user can also create 2 slabs that will rise and tilt to the sides in front of him, as if "opening up" the ground. This can be done to create a clear path if anything hazardous is above the ground in that specific area.

Now after all of that battling Im beat. Create a river of mud in front of you that will flow out to long range. I’ll put on my earthen armor scuba gear so to speak and slide down your mud river don’t judge me. You should try it. U_U.

Ushiro’s great. ^^ Actually I was waiting to master wind (which I did today) and I’m going to try and go for Muu ^^ as Konoha no longer has a Muu bio in their midst LOL, thanks for just reassuring my decision as I was struggling if I wanted to or not. Well continuing on that note I was guarding the gates in the war and when one of my buddies went down I intercepted Blizzard. He was an oldies RP’er meaning haxed customs and etc. He could have been a Kage or Sensei if he wanted to and I died on my second move so 4 post fight as I broke time frame an amateur mistake as we were both mid range. My ego was a little scarred because I really thought I could make a difference. I didn’t know much about the NW but I was learning the old fashion hard way. I didn’t have anyone telling me what Im telling you right now. LOL. As you said I realized one element wasn’t nearly enough but I wouldn’t keep me down…I was a stubborn child. xD

Get Ready! Here I come!

(Doton: Ganchūrō no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Rock Pillar Prison Technique

Performance: Sherlock performs the Rat → Horse → Dog → Snake handseals and rapidly builds his doton chakra, when he’s built enough chakra he manipulates the ground around Senpai to rise up in the form of large pillars from all sides putting him in a earthen cage.

Uses: This is a pretty useful jutsu. It not only restricts our opponent’s movement but also conceals us and the opponent will have no clue what we will come up with next and we know in most cases the opponent will use Raiton to break out of it so we can be ready with a wind tech. If my opponent were to use this jutsu on me, I won’t really “break” out of it. I would just use hiding like a mole tech and get out of the opposite direction of the cage from where my opponent is standing. Also a Muu Bio user can simply use hiding in the camoflague and fly away. I can also leave a clone standing inside or make a clone break out of the cage while I myself get out of the cage hidden mode. If you are a Sensor and know where your opponent is standing outside, you can make a clone break out from the opposite direction using a flashy jutsu and when you sense your opponent run that way, you can simply come out quietly using something less destructive and sneak on your opponent.

Note - I have a proposal here. If you remember I told you one of my RP goals is to own a Tobirama Bio. I’ll tell you how I arrived at it. My most basic requirement for a Special Bio is that they should be a sensor and currently only the Senju Brothers,Muu and Nagato are cool special character bios that are Sensory. My top two choices are Tobirama and Muu. I chose Tobirama cause he has FTG but that was before I started training in Doton. But now I feel Muu is better for someone like me lol. If you are going for Muu then when we discuss each jutsu, lets describe specifically how Muu can handle that situation. It will be a good practice for both of us. I’ll try to describe how Muu can act in that specific situation using the jutsu we are doing and his exclusive abilities. You can add whatever you think I missed and correct me wherever I go wrong.

Counters/Drawbacks: It’s a double edged sword if the user doesn’t have Sensory or Byakugan as the opponent inside might trick the user. Doesn’t really cause damage to the opponent as its more of a strategy based tech. Is of less or no use if the opponent is a Sensor or has Byakugan.

Combinations: The user can immediately after using this tech fill the cage with water as normally the opponent will try to break out of it using Raiton and get a shock.

Jutsu Rating: 7.5/10



(Doton: Doroku Gaeshi) - Earth Release: Earth Shore Return

Performance: Senpai quickly breaks out of the cage by piercing it with a Raiton jutsu and throws a Kunai at Sherlock as he comes out. Sherlock instantly building doton chakra, slams his hands on the ground and makes an earthen wall rise in front of him. The wall rises up in time to cover Sherlock from the Kunais.

Uses: Is useful to defend against small attacks. Conceals you from the opponent for a moment. Muu has three options from here on that I can think of. Use camoflague and one stand where you are, two use hiding in the mole or three use flight. Also he can place a clone instead of himself. A Normal user can just use hiding in the mole and place a clone there.

Counters/Drawbacks: Can protect against only small attacks. The moment of concealment is only brief so its difficult to pull of too many things at once.

Combinations: Best to use as a tech to conceal or trick the opponent. It’s a defensive tech so there nothing else to follow up. A normal projectile after this will be a simple exchange of jutsus.

Jutsu Rating: 6/10


(Doton: Doro Hōshi) - Earth Release: Mud Spore

Performance: Sherlock starts building his Doton chakra and when he’s done enough, he raises his hand to summon a river of mud in front of him in which Senpai jumps wearing his earthen Scuba diving outfit O__O

Uses: Frankly this is not much different from earth flow river and can be used to get the opponent off balance.

Counters/Drawbacks: Doesn’t really deal any damage to the opponent and can be easily dealt with.

Combinations: If we have clones before hand and can pull it off we can pin the opponent in the mud and heat it up turning it into lava. Muu can do this better. A camouflaged clone heats up the mud from behind the opponent. I’d say use a strong Gen or something that paralyses the opponent, then use this and let the camouflaged clone prepared beforehand use a strong fire tech at the same time from behind to turn the mud into lava and fry the opponent.

Jutsu Rating: 4/10 cause its not very versatile and can’t really do anything on its own.

I think I’ve heard of Blizzard. Is he the one with the Mei Bio? Time frame is the most important thing in our RP. And hope you read my proposal on the Muu Bio thing. xD

Read your proposal and I would love to help you but I’ve never owned or took a test for Muu. No matter how much I studied or what my intentions are, and no matter how much we both might know It wouldn’t be right to help you with something I’m not validated to help you in so for now keep it less specific to Muu T_T. If you need to ask questions on Muu a friend of mine named Venom owned a Muu bio and used to be a senpai. Hopefully he helps you out and if not then you’ll have to wait till I get more exp with him or you can ask someone else. I could give you my opinions on Muu in an vm or pm but I’d rather not do that in an official training thread. I am flattered that you trusted me enough to help with that but I’d rather someone with better credentials with that bio steer you in the right direction. (I would have helped if I owned a Muu bio)

NOTES ON Earth Release: Rock Pillar Prison Technique
Not much to add that you haven’t already said. If you see the picture you can see it greatly reduces your vision but you won’t be completely blinded as there were spaces. If they are going through with a Raiton wind or water is fine especially that water as they will electrocute themselves You can also kinda see the enemy inside so you’re not completely blocked imo.

NOTES ON Earth Release: Earth Shore Return
So you don’t want to block your vision unless you absolutely have to. This can defens against various straightforward jutsu but the problem is your opponent can do many things that you wont be able to see. Especially if they have doujutsu or sensory then they have the advantage in this wall blocking each others view. So be careful when using this jutsu. It’s a pretty quick defense so that’s good as well.

NOTES ON Earth Release: Mud Spore
This river does not form from beneath the opponent but it travels in front of you up to long range but you’re right that this is similar to the other jutsu. I haven’t used this much myself but you could use this as a deterrent to keep the enemy from you. Oh yeah it can be used as a fun slide at parties ;). Don’t forget that water can be added to make it run even faster as it is pretty slow. If you like fighting id range this might prove useful to make sure it stays that way.

Description: The user will first perform the required hand seals Rabbit → Boar → Rat → Horse → Tiger → Snake and slamming the hands on the ground, the user can, by flowing concentrated chakra into the Dragon Veins flowing underground, tear the earth apart, creating large chasms by raising the earth in two oposite sides in the desired location and then splitting that piece of earth through the center. The length, width, direction, and curve of the chasm are all up to the user. Manipulating the Dragon Veins requires fine chakra control, but if one has such skill, they can use this technique to divide the space between the enemy and their own team in two, destroy enemy camps or defences, and even to attack.
Note: This does not split the earth appart directly to cause opponents to fall in the fissure.

Okay slam your hands on the ground but if you have arthritis then….wait their not excluded either….well its not my problem. Anyway use your chakra to cause several chunks ofearthen rubble to pop out the ground and bombard the opponent distracting him. Perform this in an unspecific area and create a party of turnt up pop rocks..oh lord I used that phrase.

(Doton: Tsuchi Douyou no Hira) – Earth Release: Earth Shaking Palm

Description: After performing snake hand seal the user slams their hand on the ground. The result is that the ground becomes heavily turned up with chunks of rubble popping out of the ground. This technique is used as a means to distract opponents to either create an escape or follow through with a surprise attack although it can also do some damage or be udes to destroy enemy earth techniques of equal rank and bellow.


Finally coat your arm in rock and punch that random smiling boulder over there…its kinda creepy. You will see this helps you against direct contact and makes the force stronger than an average punch. This requires 1 handseal.


(Doton: Kengan no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Fist Rock Technique

Description: After performing the snake → Seal of Confrontation and then by encasing their arm in rock, the user can deal a powerful hardened punch against an opponent while being protected from direct contact with their target. If necessary, the weight of the rock can be increased to further increase the punch's destructive power through the Earth Release: Added Weight Technique or the Earth Release: Super Added Weight Technique.

PS do you mind hunting the pictures down this round of jutsus as my first day of class starts tomorrow so I was in a bit of a rush but wanted to make sure you got everything. I plan on still replying at least once a day and missing no more than one day ^^

MY Story
Yeah I think he has her but he used an Ice bio on me that day I think. In my next war I fought against the Kazekage (I keep getting hard fights) and I ended up dying yet again. He manipulated a Raiton blast underneath me and I tried to dodge with a pillar but I realized that I couldn’t manipulate the earth cuz Raiton chakra existed underneath it. I also realized that the people on the base were tougher than I thought so jutsu was only important but battle training was very important so I would no how to react to various situations.

Alright. Lets get started!

(Doton: Doryūkatsu) - Earth Release: Earth Flow Divide

Performance: Sherlock performs the Rabbit → Boar → Rat → Horse → Tiger → Snake handseals and slams his hands on the ground and manipulates the ground to rise in two opposite directions with a huge gap between both the risen parts. The anthill and Sherlock & Senpai are separated.

Uses: Can be used to slow down an approaching opponent who was trying to come close and engage in Taijutsu. Can be used to defend against a projectile coming from a long distance as the ground rises up and can defend us. The user can stand on top of it for a better view of the battle field. Can be used to create a slope in front of the user to run upward and jump.

Counters/Drawbacks: Isn’t very versatile. Can be easily destroyed with low ranked Raiton jutsus.

Combinations: Can’t think of any TBH. Probably crush the opponent between the split by using the appropriate earth jutsu.

Jutsu Rating: 5/10

(Doton: Tsuchi Douyou no Hira) – Earth Release: Earth Shaking Palm

Performance: Sherlock performs a snake handseal and slams his hand on the ground turning up all the chunks of rocks and rubble out of the ground.

Uses: Good to create distraction for the opponent. Will put the opponent in defense mode if they were very close to us.

Counters/Drawbacks: If the opponent is close to us and strong enough in Taijutsu, they can kick a chunk aiming for our head as we get up. Can be easily destroyed by ration techs.

Combinations: Can be coated with fire and shot along with fire projectiles. Can be shot along with strong and concentrated wind techs. Can be combined with freeform stone throwing/kicking. The user performs this tech and then kicks the rocks that have risen up at super speed at the opponent.

Jutsu Rating: 5/10

Counters/Drawbacks: Can be easily destroyed by our opponent by using a lightning armour. If we increase the weight of this tech, it will slow our movement.

Notes on - Earth Release: Earth Flow Divide-Okay so we survived that massive ant hill….I’ll destroy it later but lets leave it be for now. SO yeah this works well if you’re not confident in the short range department or also to divide>>>AND WHAT DO I MEAN BY THAT?? Exactly what I said. Lets say you’re in a two on two match. You can divide and conquer by splitting them apart so instead of a unified force there is only 1 each by themselves unable to help the other. As for standing on top of it I suppose you can but their will be better choice jutsus to raise you to a good height

Notes on Earth Release: Earth Shaking Palm-Yes they could kick the rock but the other chunks might make it difficult for them to perform that without worrying. Nagashi and Raikiri are some quick counters that come to mind for this jutsu. Its good if you want to slow them down but most people will be able to survive this jutsu as its not that difficult to counter.


Notes on : Earth Release: Fist Rock Technique-Yeah so it’s a basic attack maybe good in close range against an opponent not very good in lightning or even wind for that matter as they are the two fastest elements and in a close range battle they will likely be pulled off quicker if they are point blank range away from you. The arm can be used to defend against things and leaves your natural body(arm) less exposed to external forces. So you could think of it as a protective glove almost. I’m not to sure about coating it in fire as although you can combine two attacks to make almost a lave based element you do not have lava chakra so any form of lava on your body might actually harm you since you can’t control it on your body. Unless you do just enough to make it not deadly to yourself. That’s my opinion. It works for other jutsu because they are being sent to the enemy and once they combine you don’t have to manipulate it further.



Okay lets see what can we do about that random baby Juubi over there. Apparently its lost its way and I don’t want it getting any bigger. Perform the seal and take a hold of earth sections using your chakra to create two walls of earth (one on each side) to trap it in between and crush it.

MY Story Part 1: NW Treachery
This I think is my last tragic part of my story (I still have more to tell but I think I finished my most embarrassing moments here). So after I became a little stronger I went into the kumo war and I could have made a difference if not for the workings of a traitor in our mist. After I’ve learned the lessons of fighting I then learned the lesson of integrity, mischievousness, and plain treachery of the unforgiving NW. I do not mean do not trust any of your teammates as trust is a valuable asset in teamwork but always be careful and suspecting of the worst. He was our general for all practical purposes and I was in his squad, He was meditating but suddenly he went sage mode, and fang mode(hax custom) which gave him like infinite speed and power. In fang mode his movements could only be tracked by MS and so he killed like three ninjas in one move me included. It kinda sucked as no one who wasn’t susoecting him as a traitor would have made preperations before hand to stop him. My friend Imp also came into this situation. Our old comrade Dragy joined akatsuki and they visited our borders recently. For some reason at the end Imp shook his hand (I doubt I’ll ever truly due something like this in the NW until I get better in close quarters). Dragy Nagashied and Rasengan’d him but it was later voided due to them attacking in RP thread but you see how an old friend would have killed you without much thought? Even being part of the akatsuki the bond would be stronger than that or so you would hope. SO this lesson is there is nothing that is impossible or off the table. That person who has been your friend since the beginning will not hesitate to mislead you if it could lead to a successful mission or credentials for their own status. Some of the people in your very village might be plotting your demise right now. So my rule is to only trust people at most likely 85-90 percent if Im good friends with them and 40% if I don’t know them very well. And 0% if I don’t know them at all. These lesson have made me a better RP’er and a smarter person. Hopefully through this part of my story you wont have to learn the hardway like I did >_>

Performance: After forming the Snake handseal, Sherlock creates two walls of earth and traps the baby jubbi in between them, crushing it.

Uses: Can easily kill an immobilized enemy. Alters the terrain.

Counters/Drawbacks: Can be easily broken using a Raiton tech.

Combinations: Can be used right after a Genjutsu. Can be used right after techs like Water Syrup. This can be used first and then a wind tech. An enemy will normally use lightning to break these walls but the approaching wind tech will be difficult for him to deal with.

Jutsu Rating: 3/10. Not very versatile.

Uses: Can be used to hide clones or simply use them to launch an attack from under the ground. Can be used to create a water source. First use this tech then use a water tech to create a small water source. Can be used to create a pool of lava. First use this tech then use fire tech to create a lava pool.

Counters/Drawbacks: Cannot be made in high density areas or terrains like water, ice or sand. Doesn’t cause any direct damage to the opponent.

Combinations: Can be used to create a water source or lava pool. Used with clones.

Jutsu Rating: 5/10

Thats pretty bad. I've always thought what happens when the person you consider an ally in the NW turns out to be an enemy. Thats sad and annoying as well cause you get out of the event.

Time to get you back in shape xD. It wasn’t too bad because they were indeed accurate but Im sure you could think of more counters/drawbacks besides basic weaknesses. Also lets try to get more detail on your performance of jutsus. Its kinda difficult as some are straightforward but go add details such as your chakra manipulation where you are controlling it, where you aim it. Spell out the process by which you are doing some of these things as much as you can.

Notes on (Doton: Dāchiganshō) - Earth Release: Ground Bedrock:
Good thought about adding a wind technique to a combination involving this jutsu as most people will use Raiton to get out of this. I would probably rely on a quicker attack than this one after a genjutsu but it can indeed be used after a gen or immobilization. Now idk if you knew it but that water Syrup jutsu is a great find. If they are stuck in a water based jutsu then you attack with earth, they might still be able to counter as this is C rank but they will have to counter without Raiton or else they will be electrocuted. I liked that you stated a specific jutsu. Now one thing I would like to mention is I like attacks that attack from differing angles. EX two B rank rocks are heading your way from your left and right only certain jutsus would work to defend you against both. If you use a projectile based S rank Raiton attack you would still get hit as that only takes care of one rock. So technique and finesse is more important than power. Do not forget. (Although you cannot expect to win without power) I can see your knowledge has grown with training and that’s the progress Im looking for. ^^

Notes on (Doton: Ton'neru chika no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Tunneling Technique
I guess it could be used to create a water source connected by a tunnel. That would be a nice supplementary use for like a reservoir or something like it. In battle there are water techniques that can create a water source in itself so It would be best to create a source in one jutsu rather than two. As for a pull of lava if you don’t have lava release I don’t think you could create a lava pool. Once the tunnel is created even if you created massive fire blasts to pick up debris from the tunnel it would not be enough to create a lava pool. Just my opinion. There is a fire jutsu that actually utilizes a tunnel so you’ll learn that from your Katon teacher. Again as you stated you basically need some earth to use this jutsu.

Notes on (Doton: Hokoriheki no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Dust Wall TechniqueThe main thing here is that you will also be blind to your enemy. A strategy I usually take part in when I can’t see is to use large scaled attacks that effect the battle area so that I do not necessarily have to know where the enemy is. You are free to move conceal things but as you said this can easily be dealt with and is useless against Byakugan. You might want to use this if there are certain actions you want to conceal from your opponent, trickery, etc. Its thrusted forward so that’s also good for you as you will have some room to operate outside of a dust cloud. (Your peripheral will be clear since the cloud does not surround your area but heads toward the enemy.) Many times the best way to level out a playing field is to take out one’s senses (usually done with genjutsu but these types of jutsu work fine)

LMAO, its horrible. Sometimes the rising new comers are the worse as they are trying to make a name for themselves and will do anything to gain some sort of acknowledgement. Other times the experienced RP’ers will just annihilate anyone new, leading to timid participation in the NW from rookies as It doesn’t seem like a fun place to RP anymore. In my opinion if you don’t want to RP go to the BA and allow some RP to be done in the RP<<<<keyword there. LOL, It can get pretty bad when no one in a higher rank/position is willing to help you learn the ropes. I had a couple of people helping me, and still do ; let me tell ya it helps a lot.

P.S I will begin the brighter side of my story when we start B ranks.

Performance: Sherlock starts rapidly building his Doton chakra. When he’s built enough chakra, he manipulates it and with the help of nature and shape manipulation, he creates a huge rock from the ground on his left that rises up. He uses the rock to slam the ugly scarecrow next to it.

Sherlock also spit a large globule of mud which hardens mid way towards the opponent into a large rock.

Uses: A simple projectile. Its large size is useful to protect the user from multiple incoming small projectiles as well as also crushing the opponent on contact. Its more like a missile than a bullet cause of its large size. One can also “spit” a gouble of wet mud that hardens mid way. I think it would make a powerful lava ball if fire is added to the gouble of mud on its way.

Counters/Drawbacks: Can be easily broken to bits by a Raiton tech. There’s just one bullet. So a powerful enough(B Rank and above) Fire or Wind projectile as well can destroy it and continue towards us.

Combinations: Can be used with fire, especially the type that the user spits.

Jutsu Rating: 6/10

Thats the plan. To get strong and good battle exp in the BA then go to NW xD

Notes on (Doton: Rokkuhanmā) - Earth Release: Rock Hammer
xD LMAO I’m using that in my next training if I pass my trial. It is a mod ban hammer. Good job. You would use this if you have an enemy trapped. Preferably the water sticky jutsu. Water and wind can become your best friends when using earth jutsu as wind has the obvious counter to Raiton but water can cause electrocution. Earth is arguably one of the slower elements if not the slowest basic element in the NW so setup might be a bit necessary if you have to manipulate earth to travel long distances unlike protruding spikes from the immediate area. You can use this as a threat to hide behind, attack, defend. The path of attack leaves you open for example If you use a straightforward B rank jutsu then follow with this, the opponent does not have to worry about another incoming jutsu head on and can use an A rank straightforward jutsu to break through your first and head toward you. Since this jutsu requires you to lift it up and over like a parabolic arc you are wide open to straightforward attacks and have to interrupt your move to defend or attack with higher rank to gain tf advantage again. So be sure to implore good strategy when making combos. So yeah best used on entrapped enemy.


(Doton: Iwa Dangan ) - Earth Release: Rock Bullet:
Ewww you spit mud 0_0 *coughs up mud by mistake* damn my chakra allergies. Did I mention I’m allergic to chakra. #worstninjaever xD, Anyway I agree with the fire/earth combo to make B rank lava technique. I think its worth the mention when adding attacks you have to make sure they are capatable. For instance if the fire is too large it will just engulf this rock and not add on to it. If the fire is too strong it will just destroy the rock and never blend in. Ex C rank rock yet you try to add A rank fire..It wont work. I wouldn’t even try B rank fire as the earth is the medium for the attack here not the fire. C Katon+C Doton=B Lava based attack, or C+D=High C (fruit juice. xD) Here is a recent fight I am in. Read my last post I perform a lovely/destructive combination if I do say so myself. . You might not be able to do anything on that scale yet but same principles apply the fire is the medioum and the wind strengthens that attack. When making combos find out whats the medium for attack and then perform the combo correctly. It can be simple but sometimes it can get complicated (just a little) and if you mess up well there goes your move. One more thing about combos; Some jutsus can be combined very quickly but remember if you are not a YinYang user, a SakkonUkon User, or have a clone you are not instantly using two abilities together so in some cases the enemy might be able to interrupt your combination if its too slow.
Good noticing it is just one bullet drawback. This is an attack I would use for the sole purpose to exploit a weakness of the enemy as it doesn’t seem reliable to finish an enemy off. Unless you’re OP you hardly get 1 hit KO’s so you have to break down an opponents defenses and this is a straight easy attack that leaves little possibilities of mistakes in its use. You don’t want to give the enemy a break to cast gen, and other strategies so this can be helpful in that sense but it can be easily countered.

Since I just went over combos, before we go to next jutsu's I want you to do the hardest thing ever.....make me a smoothy *magically gives you a blender and ingredients* Just like jutsu...if you add to much bannana over strawberry you have not created a SBsmoothy but just a bannana mess shake. 0_0, you must find the perfect balance. Take as long as you need to. xD

( Doton: Jōshō Iwa ) - Earth Release: Rising Rocks

Performance: Sherlock claps his hands together and starts rapidly building his Doton chakra. When he’s built enough chakra, he manipulates it and with the help of nature and shape manipulation, he creates and unleashes two huge rocks from the ground on either side of the tree to break it.

Uses: I think this technique is mostly useful for defensive purposes. It can be useful to keep a Taijutsu expert enemy at bay if he gets too near.

Counters/Drawbacks: Can be easily dealt with Raiton techs. The opponent can march ahead slashing the rocks using a chidori.

Combinations: I think this tech can be used alongside clones in many ways. The user can perform this tech and make a clone stand on it or rather place the clone on oneside of the opponent and start the jutsu from below his feet. The rocks seem to travel fast so it will carry the clone real fast and provide it with the necessary momentum to strike. A cool move would be to place a clone wielding a sword on these rocks and send them to either of the side of the target and the clone jumps midair and slashes the opponent on reaching near him.

Jutsu Rating: 7/10

( Doton: Gizagiza no Iwajin ) - Earth Release: Jagged Rock Formation

Performance: Sherlock manipulates his chakra and stomps the ground. It causes small fractures to rip through the ground, which then force fragments of earth and rock to rise up from the ground like protruding rock formations to then deal blunt force damage to the opponent and raise them up into the air.

Uses: A useful tech to create distractions and keep the enemy busy. Though it doesn’t really cause huge damage to the opponent its something that has to be dealt with.

Counters/Drawbacks: Can be easily destroyed by a wide ranged lightning tech. Doesn’t really cause any real damage to the opponent like killing him except maybe if the user launches it with the opponent’s back to him and a rock hits his head.

Combinations: I think this tech should be best used as a red herring, a distraction to use the opportunity and launch something big. For example I’d use this tech on my opponent and when my opponent is busy countering this tech, I’ll make a clone to use something hax from behind my opponent.

Jutsu Rating: 6/10

Ah almost like a launchpad or ramp. That is a combo I never thought of and might try it at some point in the future. You’ve explained it very well though. If the clone positions himself right it will be nice to see that in action. Good job on this one. I don’t have much to add.

Blunt force trauma wont kill the enemy unless he is hit in a sensitive area like the head. This would be nicely used with an attack coming from above or behind like you said in your template. I think you said it best use it as a distraction or have another jutsu to coincide with this one.

Description: After performing the required hand seals Boar → Ox → placing hand on the ground, the user causes the ground surrounding the enemy to spiral inwards on itself, burying them alive or crushing them in a mayhem of jagged rocks. This technique is capable of causing quite a bit of damage to a large area. This technique is much more damaging if used in rocky mountainous areas, or inside a cave.

(Doton: Doryūha) - Earth Release: Earth Flow Wave

Performance: Sherlock performs the Rat → Snake → Tiger handseals and rapidly builds his doton chakra. When he feels he has built enough chakra, he creates a wave of earth and rides it along with Senpai. Sherlock manipulates the ground below a guard ninja and traps the him by wrapping earth round his legs preventing him from moving.

Uses: I think this can be a pretty handy tech to defend from water techs. Not just projectiles but also the ones that fall on us from above as we can jump below the wave(I think this will work cause it doesn’t say one needs to stand on top of it to control it). I think it can be combined with the appropriate fire tech to form a wave of lava. Apart from that trapping the enemy and making them immobile is one of the uses of this tech.

Counters/Drawbacks: Can be broken down by a lightning tech. If the wave is hit by the opponent’s fire tech which is strong enough to melt it, while the user is still riding it, the user will take the damage.

Combinations: Useful to create a pool of lava.

(Doton: Retsudo Tenshin) - Earth Release: Violent Heavenly Earth Needle
Performance: After performing the earth flow wave Sherlock performs the snake handseal while still riding the wave and creates a large needle of earth from it that impales one of the guard ninja in front.

Uses: Useful to impale and kill an enemy.

Counters/Drawbacks: Is not an independent jutsu. Requires Earth Flow Divide to be already on. Can be easily destroyed by lightning.

Combinations: The needle can be coated with a fire tech to increase the damage to the opponent.

Jutsu Rating: 3/10

(Doton: Retsudo Tenshō) - Earth Release: Tearing Earth Turning Palm

Performance: Sherlock performs the Boar → Ox → handseals and slams his hand on the ground, causing the ground surrounding the enemy to spiral inwards on itself, burying them alive.

Uses: Useful to dislodge the opponent. It changes the terrain by spiraling the ground, so its useful to increase the distance between us and the opponent by slowing them down by using this tech. The only time this tech might be used to kill an opponent would be when the opponent is immobile and won’t be able to do anything to prevent himself from getting crushed.

Counters/Drawbacks: Can be stopped by hitting the ground with a powerful lightning tech.

Combinations: Isn’t really a tech that can be used in combinations with many techs. Best used to create a distraction during which the user can create a clone to set up something big.

Notes on (Doton: Doryūha) - Earth Release: Earth Flow Wave:
The description actually says create and ride the wave so I don't think it will work that way. That also causes the problem with the lave mixture. If this was a normal wave sent away from you it would be fine but since you are rding the wave turning it into lava is hazardous as you do not have control of lava chakra to prevent it from harming you imo. Pretty nice way to get around as it can be an attack and way to move/dodge attacks. It is also a small sequence of handseals. It would be a nice combination with a clone if you could immobilize the enemy and attack with a Suiton tech as they would likely try to use Nagashi to break out of the hold.

Notes on: (Doton: Retsudo Tenshin) - Earth Release: Violent Heavenly Earth Needle: Yeah so main thing with this is that it has to be used with another jutsu so it requires a bit of set up but its reward does not seem so great. In comparison the Kirin which requires two jutsu's ahead of it it results in a near auto win in normal cases but the reward for wasting a turn is a lower rank earth jutsu???? I guess it provides a first line of defense after using the wave jutsu but it does seem like a waste of a turn imo. Its best quality is if you wish to keep distance between you and your opponent after using the earth flow wave.

Notes on (Doton: Retsudo Tenshō) - Earth Release: Tearing Earth Turning Palm: I can almost quote Prince Zuko's uncle when he shouted "break his root." Breaking the enemies root can fluster inexperienced fighters from good ones. Someone not adept in battling will start making mistakes once you alter the ground beneath them. This is a good jutsu to create openings for better attacks and does not require a large sequence of handseals. I don't use this a lot but its helpful in certain situations.


Good we have escaped to greener pastures. Now that you have a goo idea of how to use your earth chakra you shouldn't have a problem using earth jutsu on a grassy field. So far we've been training on a barren landscape to make it easier for you in the manipulation process. You should be able to do this.

There is a pedifilish tree winking at you. Destroy the monstrosity like right now by creating 4 large spikes to rise out of he ground and meet at a single point (being the tree). I'll use it to make firewood. 0_0

...I got a great idea.... Focus on melding a humanoid out of the earth and use further manipulation. Spitout of your mouth a clone of rock that resembles the Ramen Guy and mke me ramen. I'll thn dismantle yor clone at which point it should turn into rubble when it is you know dead. They can only use C rnak earth techs and survive B rank tai.

Description: The user creates their clone out of stone that he spits from his mouth. Unlike other types of clones the rock clones don’t disappear after being defeated but rather crumble like rubble. These clones can also be used to create a clone of other people than themselves but do not take on the abilities of the copied person. They can use up to C-Rank Earth techniques and are very resistant to physical damage such as that from Taijutsu which they can endure up to B-Rank.

The user can also manipulate the resulting shelter to have openings in it so as to be able to observe outside, as demonstrated when used by Kitsuchi
