And, I thought you had Kenjutsu, sensei. O_O

Sorry about the delay, 'tis the season for such things. z.z

Anyway, for now, I'll not teach Kenjutsu with the method system, as there exists none as of now.

The sky was gloomy and a slightly cold breeze blew, pushing away Ace's hair away from his face. He ran his fingers through his hair, adjusting them, as he picked up his hat and wore it, placing his hands in his pockets afterwards. He saw a young man with long, red hair and traditional robes approach him, as he figured who he was. His expression remained unchanged, as he stared at the man.

So you must be Koumei. Before we begin with the actual training, I want you to describe what Kenjutsu is, why you're interested in Kenjutsu and how you'd incorporate it in your battles? Also, what do you think would be the advantages and drawbacks of one-handed grip and two-handed grip on your sword?

Hmm.. Kenjutsu is an oft-forgotten field utilized by some ninja that is essentially 'swordsmanship'. Whereas taijutsu focuses on hand-to-hand combat, kenjutsu is weapon-based - utilizing one or more swords. It is one combat method theoretically subordinate to the umbrella term entitled bukijutsu, but the overwhelming prevalence of swords somewhat distinguishes the art. As a puppeteer, I personally find standard kenjutsu to be.. primitive in a sense, given my access to significantly more sophisticated tools. That said, I have some ideas for innovative styles I'd like to pursue once I've attained a legitimate grasp of the art. Now, I'd imagine a two-handed grip generates more power than a single-handed grip, albeit at the expense of greater rigidity and less versatility. The latter offers the swordsman a free hand to do any number of varying tasks.

Short, but to the point. Good, said Ace, taking off his hands from his pocket and folding them across his chest.

Let me add more to what you've said.

In a one-handed strike, there is lesser force involved, however it gives the user, the freedom to cover a wider range. This keeps the other hand free, which gives the chance to the user to use any other attack simultaneously with the other hand, like Chidori or Rasengan(one handed). They're quite good for quick slashes.

Two handed strikes have obviously a greater force involved, and are good for defending against attacks. Also, they have more body weight involved, so it's quite a risk for the user if the strike misses, the massive force applied causes him to fall towards the ground due to the gravitational force. And, the user doesn't have the other hand free, i.e. both the hands are occupied. Great for cleaving off any body part or to inflict heavy damage upon the opponent.

Now, before we start with the jutsus, I want you to attack me with your sword. Feel free to grip the blade with one hand or both the hands while attacking and attack me several times, each attack being unique from the other.

After speaking, Ace stretched his right to his right, and took his left leg slightly back, placing his left hand on the sheath, and his right hand over the handle of his blade, his eyes locked onto his student.

OOC: Description is key here, so be as descriptive as possible. You start at short range.

Observing Ace-sensei shift into a preparative stance, Koumei obliges by removing his own katana from its sheath with his right hand. Opting for a simple offense, he lunges forward and raises his sword arm up, before bringing it down in a diagonal slice. The motion would bring damage to Ace-sensei's left shoulder and then continue on until the blade reaches the right of his hip. All the while, he keeps the sheath of his blade ready to be used as a defense.

As you lunge forward, and raise your sword arm up, I duck down and sweep my right leg anticlockwise, throwing you off balance, as I jump back several meters, all the while keeping my hand on the sheath of my sword.

Try again, baka!

Koumei resumes his assault once more, but this time begins by running towards Ace-sensei. As he approaches CQC distance from his opponent, he suddenly moves to his right before dropping to the ground and sweeping his right leg clockwise. Should the kick land, it will disrupt Ace-sensei's balance, at which point he'll aim the tip of his katana at his opponent's right leg, in the form of a powerful thrust that reaches higher as Koumei resumes an upright position.

Better.

We'll start with the first tecnique.

(Ken Rendan no Jutsu) - Sword Barrage Technique
Rank: C
Type: Offensive
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 10
Damage points: 25
Description: With this technique, the user will make a sequence of slashes with their sword and finishes with a powerful final slash dealing liberal damage to their enemy.

One of the most exploitable Kenjutsu techniques in the list. You can perform upto 18 or more slashes with this move. Run toward my clone and slash him how many ever times you want. Remember to mention when you're using a single grip and when you're using a two-handed grip. The sequence of slashes imply a certain amount of speed. The powerful final slash implies power, meaning your final slash in stronger than the rest of the slashes, as well as slower.

Maintaining a single-handed grip, Koumei assaults the clone with a flurry of slashes targeting the opponents upper body. The first and second movements are essentially targeting the left and right shoulders, respectively, with diagonal cuts approximately an inch into the flesh. The third slash involves a simple, horizontal (right to left) sweeping motion meant to inflict a slightly deeper wound across the clone's abdomen. For a final attack, he sharply pivots on his left foot whilst aiming a powerful, two-handed katana slash at the clone's exposed neck - decapitation.

Good. Next up:

(Ikari Nomikomu no Jutsu) - Fury Swallow Technique
Rank: C
Type: Offensive
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 10
Damage points: 25
Description: The user punches the opponent a few times and finishes them with two final slashes with their blade or sword.

Run toward the dummy and punch it several times. Describe where you punch it and how you punch it. After a couple of punches, slash it twice with your sword, and try being creative. Where exactly would you punch and slash the dummy to deal maximum damage?

( Enjin Ranbu ) - Circular Wild Dance
Rank: C
Type: Attack
Range: Short
Chakra cost: N/A
Damage points: 25
Description: The user spins with his tantō, hitting the target several times.

Has no chakra cost. And a very simple technique. You outstretch your blade and spin in any direction you want, slashing the dummy several times. What would be the advantage of spinning and the drawback?

0:38 is how you'd spin, but obviously without a pole.

Approaching the training dummy, Koumei raises his arms up and bends his knees slightly - a simple taijutsu stance. He begins his offense with a swift left-handed jab to what would be the dummy's solar plexus before following it up with another left-handed jab to the 'throat'. After the two jabs connect, he immediately shifts in closer to the idle target and delivers a strong right-handed uppercut. Lastly, Koumei reaches for his two wasp knives in the moment following his taijutsu assault, so as to further attack the dummy with two diagonal slashes that create a large x-shaped cut across the abdominal region. "Always aim for the solar plexus, so as to stun the target by 'knocking the wind out of them'. A blow to the throat is also effective in fulfilling the same intent whilst the uppercut is to completely disorient the opponent. The abdominal region is one of the more common places to attack with blades, since there's a great deal of surface area and important organs beneath the dermis."

For his second maneuver, Koumei draws a tantō with his right hand. This time, as he races towards the dummy, he kicks off the ground - half a meter into the air - and extends his right arm as he begins to rapidly spin. With the blade in his outstretched hand, the circular motions allow for the tantō to strike the dummy a few times. "Spinning can one's offense harder to fully predict, but requires extraneous movements beyond the more linear approaches. Not to mention, a circular motion means that at some point the attacker's eyes will not be focused on the target, which is certainly risky."

Very good. However, if you punch twice, don't punch with the same hand, as the opponent may predict you'll use the same hand again. Instead the moment you finish your first punch with your left punch at the solar plexus, punch the dummy on the throat with your right hand, which makes it harder for the opponent to predict and counter, as he'd be busy countering your first punch.

( Rakkasui ) - Falling Water
Rank: C
Type: Offensive
Range: Short
Chakra cost: N/A
Damage points: 25
Description: The user will drop down upon the opponent from mid air pointing their sword downwards and drilling it down into the opponent.

I like this one myself. Jump into the air, and hold your sword with both your hands, pointing the sword downwards. As you reach the dummy, extend your sword onto the dummy's body, drilling it down with great force.

Leaping high into the air (2m), Koumei promptly unsheathes his chokutō and positions the tip of the blade to be near-perpendicular to the ground below. As he rapidly descends, with the dummy below, he grips his sword with both hands and drills the blade through what would be the idle target's left shoulder, followed by its left lung.

Ouch. <.<

(Bakuchi Tori Kuzu Oujou) – Gambling Bird Arrowroot Death
Rank: B
Type: Attack
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user bolts in front of the enemy who they then strike with their sword handle before delivering several kicks that sends the enemy into the air. The user then bolts across to the far off location of the enemy who they then punch violently into an obstacle.

Charge chakra into the soles of your feet, so that you get something akin to a boost of speed. Dash towards my clone, and as you reach him, strike him anywhere you want with the handle of your sword, basically holding your sword backwards. As you strike, immediately follow up with several kicks in such a manner that the clone is sent flying. Charge chakra in your feet again, bursting toward the clone's position mid-air, and then violently punch him onto the tree nearby. Again tell me if you're using a one-handed or two handed grip, and which grip would be better? Also tell me with which legs your kicking, and with which hand you're punching.

Koumei dashes toward Ace-sensei's clone, with chokutō firmly grasped within his dominant
hand. Upon close proximity to his target, he shifts his right arm in such a way that the very same hand transitions to a position near his left shoulder, before promptly lashing out with the chokutō's handle, so as to momentarily stun the clone. Without faltering for even an instant, he chains the initial attack into a subsequent taijutsu sequence. He does so by first executing a simple front kick to the clone's chin with his right leg that knocks it into the air, then continues with a counterclockwise motion that terminates in a powerful jump spinning side kick with his left leg, aimed at the solar plexus. The force of the latter blow is sufficient enough in force to send Ace-sensei's clone flying in the direction of a nearby tree, with Koumei swiftly covering the newly made distance between his target in time to punch it into the tree. "Hmm.. a two-handed grip might've had more power, but only insofar as the first attack, thus not really changing much given a modest margin of difference in initial power. Moreover, this is a primarily taijutsu-orientated maneuver affected by leg strength."

Wow, looks like I snagged me an expressive student. :)

"Very good execution of Bakuchi Tori Kuzu Oujou. However, unlike my colleague here I won't be using Shadow Clones. You'll be coming at me with everything you got." Yosamu smiles and tosses his overcoat to the side, revealing a traditional sensei vest. "Don't hold back now."

Next up we have Rensei Shinkuken, which begins with channeling chakra into your blade and advancing on the enemy foremost. Then, you'll deliver a few slashes to send them into the air where you'll appear above them with something similar to Shunshin no Jutsu. From there you will expend the chakra shroud on your blade and drill it into the opponent's body, sending them plummeting to the ground to die of multiple injuries.

(Rensei Shinkuken) – Drilling Crimson Blade
Rank: B
Type: Attack
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user takes out their blade and channels chakra into it. They then run towards the opponent, slashing them upwards into the air and then appear above him/her, and deliver a sharp, drilling slash down upon them, impelling them into the ground.

Unsheathing his chokutō, Koumei positions the metallic weapon such that the blade is towards his person and at a 45° to the ground. While adjusting his posture, he proceeds to stream a moderate portion of his chakra along the blade. Following his instructions, he then rushes towards Yosamu-sensei and brings his chokutō up and across in a sweeping, diagonal movement with the intention of using the blunt back of the blade to knock his target up into the air. Should this segment of the technique be fulfilled without resistance, he will then promptly leap into the air above Yosamu and perform a followup - a drilling slash that will, ultimately, impale him into the ground.

The deciding moment where Koumei was to send Yosamu to a plummeting death was when the Sensei unsheathed his tanto and parried the strike. Leaving both men suspended in the air, at the mercy of gravity. Of course being shinobi they would both land unscathed.

Yosamu then lifted his "sensei vest" to show none of the strikes had made it to his body. You know, in case the student was feeling worried >.>

"Very well done. Next is Suraisu Shinku no Nami where you'll focus a precise amount of chakra into your blade before swinging it to expel said chakra in the form of a crescent arc. This is very dangerous, and can easily remove the limb of a person. However, it can only travel up to mid range (10m) from its point of origin."

Yosamu draws his own blade this time, "I'll be taking necessary precautions now. You on the other hand, perform the technique for me."

(Suraisu Shinku no Nami) - Slicing Crimson Wave
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Mid
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user does a simple cresent-shaped slash at the opponent, expelling a red chakra wave.

Koumei draws his chokutō once more, in silent compliance with Yosamu-sensei's instructions. He maintains a firm grasp of the sword's hilt with his dominant (right) hand as he precisely diffuses a moderate quantity of chakra along the blade, with the tip pointed towards his mentor. A flicker of his right hand—the only sign he was now poised to attack, was merely the preceding gesture obliged to be used in conjunction with a broad left-to-right swing of the blade. Amid the maneuver, the chakra, initially compressed along the blade, releases in the form of a red wave capable of reaching up to several meters beyond the point of origin whilst retaining its lethality if left unopposed.
