"Don't think this makes you better than me." Corvo called out in playful tone of voice before continuing; he sported his normal attire with the exception of his mask. "That communication scroll you showed me will come in handy one day, and I'm sure you have other tricks up your sleeve when it comes to Fuuinjutsu. Anyway, I'll be sure to return the favor and teach you some stuff I know. If you're capable and ready, that is." He then continues to answer the question that had been asked of him, taking a few paces forward to closer inspect the scroll that Ryo was holding.
"Fuuinjutsu revolves around sealing objects, chakra and living creatures. Conversely it can also allow one to unseal them, and is typically made up of six parts, although not all fuuinjutsu carry the six of these attributes simultaneously: the medium, the object, the trigger, the binding, chakra, and the key. Usually, a seal will be marked with a series of kanji or formula that serve the purpose of denoting what the sealing technique can do.
(Kekkai: Tengai Hojin) - Barrier: Dome Method Formation
Rank: B-Rank
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short- Mid
Chakra cost: 20 (- 10 per turn to keep active)
Damage points: N/A
Description: After clapping ones hands, this technique creates a spherical detection barrier above ground with the user at the center. At the user's command, the detection barrier can expand, grasping everything in the battle field. The user is able to detect anything that moves inside the barrier space with his or her own "sense".
Paying close attention to Ryo, Corvo nodded as he concluded his first set of instructions. "I see. Pretty annoying barrier to deal with if you're trying to move about unnoticed. I'll give it a shot."
With a deep breath, Corvo steps back and claps his hands together, exuding his chakra in an omnidirectional manner in order to produce the barrier that expands up to his mid-ranged vicinity. "Ha. Not bad. I can see myself combining this with the Rain Tiger technique to further increase extrasensory perception. Then again, water seems to be more of your style than mine." He imitates Ryo sipping from his bottle of water with a loud and exaggerated slurping sound and a hand gesture that mimics him bringing a bottle of water up to his mouth. "Overall, it's a solid technique, but relying on it entirely can backfire, as your opponent can use this to their advantage to deter you by using the movement of other objects as a distraction. This is to say that if you were unable to physically see or hear them, and they were aware of this barrier's creation, one should be cautious for that kind of deception. The strongest aspect of this technique is the fact that most people, myself included, can't bypass the means through which this barrier senses them. So long as they exist in this plane of existence and are mobile, you can detect them."
Is the barrier invisible to the naked eye?
Corvo proceeded to do as he was instructed, and inserted his chakra into the barrier he had been informed of around him. The insertion of chakra was followed by an interference within the foreign barrier that resulted in it shattering. "This is a fairly simple technique in terms of benefits. The range it extends up to for example as you mentioned, is decent. No handseals or gestures required either, but one should be cautious as its potential for shattering barriers doesn't affect those that are more commonly used of higher strength."
You mentioned that it doesn't require direct contact with the barrier to shatter it in your dialogue, but the note in the technique itself suggests otherwise, unless the note is referring to something else and I'm mistaken.
This next technique is one of my preferred barrier-oriented ones. You'll begin by grabbing a tag that is marked with the kanjis for "Shogai" which means "External Affairs", loosely translating to the nature of this technique. This tag is commonly applied to surfaces or weapons, like a sword or even projectiles. Upon activation of the seal, a spherical barrier will be released outwards that's purely defensive. The overall size of the barrier can be said to be 5m in diameter, which means it can be used to trap an enemy if used correctly, and for that specific purpose. The barrier will stay active until destroyed and it can defend up to B-Rank Ninjutsu. I'll be making a clone, mid range from you. I want you to perform a battle combination while utilizing this technique in a unique way, at least for you. Also, any questions or concerns about this technique, as it is very board in its use.
(Fusen no Kekkai) Tag Barrier
Type: Defensive/Supplementary
Rank: B-rank
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user will take a tag marked with the kanjis 障害 (Shōgai) and either place it on a weapon (like wrapped around a kunai's handle) or on a surface (like the ground). Upon doing so, a defensive spherical barrier is erected around the tag as a seal. The barrier can be used to defend against up to B-Rank ninjutsu but also be used to contain an enemy inside if feasible.
"Suddenly a clone poofs into existence and throws three projectiles, two of them being shuriken that are infused with B Rank fire individually, circling around aiming to strike from the sides. Meanwhile the frontal projectile is a kunai with a burning explosive tag, aimed to detonate 2m away from you."
OOC: I noticed the same thing when I re-read my response but since the technique reaches up to mid-range, if the barrier you are trying to break is within mid-range, by default you'd be in "contact" with it. In the sense that you'd reach it with your chakra. Otherwise this technique would be limited to short range and you'd travel to the extremities of the barrier to dismantle it.
Yeah, it is definitely a great set up technique if used in the right situation. This next technique is also an advanced version of something you've already learned. Unlike the lesser version, this one allows you to extend the barrier even under ground. The limits of the barrier do mention long range, but for a safety precaution, the limits should be more or less up to 15m in every direction, maintaining some form of "long range limit" to it, and not simply expand it all throughout an entire land mark in an NW-scenario. There is not much to deduce, but I'd like to do so, as well as ask any questions. After that, I'd like you to perform a battle combination utilizing any (up to three if you'd like) of the techniques you've learned thus far. I'll be making a water clone about long range directly behind you.
(Kyōkai Kekkai no Jutsu) - Boundary Barrier Technique
Rank: A-Rank
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short - Long
Chakra cost: 30 (-10 per turn remaining active)
Damage points: N/A
Description: This is a detection type barrier which is simply a more advanced version of the (Kekkai: Tengai Hojin) - Barrier: Dome Method Formation technique and that can be used to surround an area and allows the user to monitor a certain area covering from the sky to underneath the ground creating a sphere. The user will create a tag with the 許可 (Kyoka) Kanji and place it on the ground, doing the confrontation hand seal afterwards to activate it. After the barrier is erected, the user, if inside it, will be able to detect any enemy inside it, even if he hiding his presence. After that, anyone who enters or leaves the barrier is instantly detected as well as anything that moves inside it. Techniques that mask the users presence are ineffective at avoiding detection as the barrier focuses on movement and displacement of matter, not solely on chakra detection. The barrier can also be moved according to the requirements of the user by moving the tag.
Note: Can only be used twice.
Corvo nods and performs a string of five handseals before slamming his hands on the ground, causing a barrier to surround the water clone, bearing an enormous amount of pressure down on them while simultaneously siphoning its chakra. He then follows up by focusing more chakra into the surrounding training grounds in order to change the surface composition to that of pure rat flesh. He manipulates the rat flesh in the clone's immediate vicinity to bind all of the clone's limbs. Finally, he manipulates the rat flesh one meter behind the clone in order to create spikes that shoot up and pierce through it as it's trapped.
"Another great technique to use, particularly in the NW. This is a good way to provide a means of detecting others without needing any inherent form of sensory active, even being able to sense underground. So the barrier as a whole senses enemies through both chakra detection and displacement of matter? Also, given the that the description says that it senses movement, could this possibly help to sense incoming attacks from underground as oppose to just enemies?"
(Tajū Mugen Hōyō ) - Multiple Infinite Embraces
Rank: A-Rank
Type: Offensive
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra cost: 30 (-100 to the target per turn, +100 to user per turn)
Damage points: N/A
Description: This technique is a stronger version of Infinite Embraces and is used basically in the same manner. The user will do the Tiger → Dog → Horse → Dragon → Boar hand seals and slam his hands on the ground, creating a bigger barrier than the original technique but similar in its essence which drains the target's chakra but also pushes down on them making it much harder to break free. The massive pressure the technique puts on the target prevents the target from moving unless it has some sort of enhanced strength ability, making it very difficult to break free from it. Unable to move, the targets are also unable to mold chakra above A-Rank while having his chakra drained. The barrier can only be broken by A-Rank techniques or above or by attacking the user.
(Nezumi Shuhō: Nezumi Niku Hyōmen) Rat Technique: Rat Flesh Surface
Rank: S
Chakra: 70
Damage: N/A
Description: By fusing you chakra into the ground you can summon a layer of rat flesh over the surface of the ground basically turning the ground you walk on rat flesh. (Not literally turning the surface into rat flesh) Much like the toad stomach where you summon toad flesh all around you, you have control of the flesh and can move it at your will to bind or trap opponents. The rat flesh is quite durable, but can be broken through by S ranked techniques. It cannot be repaired in broken areas.
Note: Must have a contract with the rats
Note: Only usable 1 time a per battle
Note: Lasts 3 turns
(Nezumi Shuhō: Nezumi Niku Supaiku) Rat Technique: Rat Flesh Spikes
Rank: B
Chakra: 50
Damage: 50
Description: Rat spikes made of rat flesh, attack the enemy. It can be used off any rat or rat flesh you can see. sort of like earth spikes but with rat flesh instead a basic attack made by the ancients to save their country. Spikes extend maximum one meter from source of flesh.
Note: Only works on rat flesh jutsu's or rats themselves
Note: Must have contract with the rats
Note: Must have one turn gap at least between each use
OOC: Beyond sorry for the massive delay, you shouldn't have waited so long!
It probably wasn't the best option that I notified you of making a clone behind you, long range away. My idea was to make you look for it! However with the range in mind, the limit of the barrier you used is up to Mid range, so you wouldn't have been able to reach it. Also, I am unsure on whether or not you were going to sustain the barrier or not, but just to note, it has to be sustained and you can't perform other techniques if you want it to continue training your target on the next turn, or hold them in place during that same turn. As for the reach of the previous barrier I mentioned, I have to fix what I said, as it could potentially reach an entire landmark,
if something changes, I'll notify you, but I would still perform it with a smaller scale. And that's correct, you could sense techniques from underground depending on how far you extended the technique, as it not only senses displacement but also chakra.
The next technique is one of my favorite ones, although it falls on very situational grounds. It is called Living Barrier and its a seal that is created by crossing two bladed objects across from each other. With your kenjutsu background, this should prove to be quite useful. Once activated, the seal aims to sap away 50% of the user's chakra within short range. This will force them to only use techniques up to A-Rank. The great thing about this technique is if the user is maintaining a high ranking technique, this would force them to deactivate it. And also, although very situational, but if your target is on a very low chakra reserve, and half of it is sealed away, they could potentially not have enough chakra to perform a high chakra-output response, giving you the edge, although still very unlikely. This is a very simple technique so I will only have you explain it in your words with ways of how you'd use it, and questions you may have. Although it is technically not a barrier, I felt it would be right to teach it regardless of our current route.
( Fūinjutsu: Seikatsu Kekkai ) – Sealing Technique: Living Barrier
Rank: A-Rank
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 30 (-15 per turn active)
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user takes out two bladed objects and crosses them. This creates a seal that seals away 50% of the chakra of any opponents within short-range of the user, allowing them to use only upto A-rank techniques.
Note: Sealing Method lasts 2 turns maximum.
Note: If the opponent moves out of short range, he regains his original abilities
OOC: We will be picking up the pace shortly after this.
