Ever since he gained BM. Kurama gained the ability to do some type of body swap with Naruto.

It's not far fetched to think he can manifest his will into Kurama without the assistance of Naruto

I think it is less about the wrieless, and more on how Kurama turned into a real Bijuu after being a chakra manifestation.

It could be from being outside of Naruto for too long or he's complete and Kurama's capebale of choosing whther he fights with his real body or use his chakra avatar.

Kind of like how be can turn into gyuki or go V2.

We saw Naruto by him too so it could have something to do with that..

I think it's more to do with the fact that Naruto is naturally gifted with fuinjutsu because of his Uzumaki heritage. The rules of being a jinchuuriki don't apply to him like Killer Bee and so on. (I.e: he can give away chakra cloaks and control them at will)

 

[Rikodou Mode]

His Uzumaki lineage allows him to use the jinchuuriki's seal to it's full potential unlike the rest of the normal shinobi. And the seal he used to contain Kurama is superior to the ones used by the other villages.

I thought it was a shadow clone originally. It could just be a clone that has fully turned into Kurama.
