Im trying fix my cousin's laptop,he just installed the W7.Then suddenly a few days later, the startup fails to well...Start up..Anw the W7 'Startup Repair' 'cannot repair this computer automatically'.
So I ask him what he did before with the laptop, and he said "when i plug in the pendrive everything got stuck"..So i figure maybe its a harddisk failure.I checked in the boot setup and test run the harddisk diagnostic,it fails..
So...How do i repair this?Whats a chkdsk btw,how do i run it?Is the only solution to install W7 again?

Kinda leads me to believe the HDD is starting to fail, especially if it failed the check. you could try to reinstall windows but theres a good chance it will fail. When the computer boots up, does it make a clicking noise?

yeah harddisk failure.nope,i didnt hear any clicking noise, only the usual laptop noise..Hmm..
I read somewhere,it actually happen after plugging in the pendrive. The W7 actually had partition error.it tries to read the pendrive as the internal HDD.This happen for Vista too.
Lol i guess reeinstalling is the only solution..for now.
