Hey there, everyone! Lately I am currently in the process of creating my own desktop through separate parts that I purchased online alongside what remains of my old system, and one particular thing that constantly came into mind is what build of Windows I'd like to have my system, so I want a few honest answers over here concerning this.

My greatest concern is that I (admittedly) use some products from Adobe that are pirated(due to my old licenses no longer working for Premiere and After Effects), and after reading that Windows 10 may find means to counteract this while simultaneously seeing the praise for it's build, it has made me debate on what I should personally pick.

Should I stick with Windows 7, or try my luck with Windows 10 despite knowing that it might shut down some of my programs that I use for work? :|

For games I guess Windows 7. If not, Windows 10. I have it and it's not much of a problem except I need specific hardware to do game capture :score:

Win 10 won't ''shut down'' anything, all that stuff you hear about it blocking pirated software is almost complete BS. I've recently also upgraded to Win 10 and immediately downloaded some programs (Photoshop CC, Sony Vegas Pro, Microsoft Office package) and all of them work flawlessly for ~ a week now, which is also the general experience of people on a native forum. Not sure about games, since I haven't downloaded any yet, but from what I'm reading it seems there aren't any issues there either.

Windows 10 is better than 7 in every way - it's lighter on the system boosting overall performance, has more features, support for the newest software - most notably DirectX12, especially games (there are already some that don't work on Win 7), and a nice, clean look. Win 10 is also much closer to 7 than it is to 8, which is the real shitty OS of the three. There is the supposed ''spying'' going on if Win 10 is installed, but that can be disabled easily, and hey - it's not like this is the first piece of software that's taking your personal info, Microsoft just had the guts to announce it officially.

Literally, the only reason you should have of choosing 7 over 10 is the nostalgia.

This is the response that makes sense in the whole thread.

Those people who say 7 over 10 is just nostalgia or that they low compared can't handle windows 10 awesomeness.

OT: Go windows 10. The ''blocking'' rumours are bullshit and this is why;

The new EULA says this yes but it does not apply to Windows 10 itself, only first party apps from Microsoft.

The EULA you can read . Section 7.b is what you're looking for. If you scroll down to the "Covered Services" list you can clearly see that Windows 10 is not listed only a lot of first party Microsoft apps.

Anything else to share? Sorry for the paranoia and such since I just want to be clear on the matter.

Why do people say Windows 10 is shit? It's better for gaming with DirectX12, looks better than Windows 7, yet using it is almost the exact same, and is smoother for me.
Win10 is 10x times better than windows 7 and I've been using windows 7 for 3 years so far. Win 8 was terrible but microsoft quickly came out with a better version called 8.1

Windows 10 is the super saiyan 3 of windows 7, if that makes sense.

I saw a lot of people in college running into problems with windows 10, which is with old softwares and games. By I old I mean just recent not like 5 - 10 year old. It could be fixed with some google searches though. Also you have deBot windows 10 after isntalling.

Windows 7 will eventually be phased out like XP, no matter how good, so I suggest you upgrade to 10 considering it is actually being handed out free and I am pretty sure the next windows won't be free.
