As I swipe my hand, I release the chakra into the air in such a way that it forms wave of slicing chakra. Immediately afterwards, I swipe my right hand to the other side of my body, moving it in a similiar manner as before and creating a second wave of slicing chakra. I manipulate the movements in such a way that they move in arcs and hit your clone's sides.*

Description: This technique after performing the required hand seals Tiger → Hare → Dragon allows the user to summon a cyclone of petals to attack their opponent. The user can remain in one spot for the use of the technique, because he or she can direct it anywhere they desire. Therefore, the user can increase the direction and power of the technique to the maximum as a last resort.

Perform the required hand seals, and then summon a cyclone of flower petals, which you direct at my clone. The cyclone should be rather large, having enough force to smash my clone into the ground.

Then, I direct it towards your clone and manipulate the futon chakra in the cyclone making sure that the cyclone of petals is strong enough to smash your clone into the ground.*

I believe that your counter would work rather well if you focus the blades of water on a particular area of the cyclone. Since there is no direct relationship (in terms of strength or weakness) between water and wind, I see no reason why your water jutsu would not cut through my cyclone, rendering my attack useless. Even if I were to "increase the direction and power of the technique to the maximum as a last resort" I still think that your counter would still be very successful.

It can, if you describe it like that. I think of wind techniques in either one or two categories. The first does blunt force damage/impact damage, like the blasts of wind, gusts, etc. The second is the cutting category which shreds on impact, like blades, scythes, etc.

Focus futon chakra into your mouth, and then perform two random hand seals. Then release the focused chakra, and use shape manipulation to form it into a disk of wind.

I don't really think your counter would really accomplish too much because the point of this wind jutsu is to cut and I would think that the disk of wind would just cut through whip of water.

C-rank water vs. C-rank wind will cancel out. So, there is no real reason WHY it wouldn't work.

@Red: What is the term for changing your chakra into an elemental nature?

I'm sorry about that, I forgot about how Jutsu of equal rank and no relationships (1 having the elemental advantage) just cancel out.

Also, I'm not sure what the term is. I always thought that the elemental aspects of chakra were referred to as nature transformation. It was my understanding that Naruto first had to master the wind nature transformation and then he worked on incorporating this chakra that incorporated the wind nature into futon chakra into the shape manipulation he had previously mastered (the rasengan) to create Futon: Rasengan. I guess I don't really understand it. Would you mind reexplaining it to me? I'm sorry about my lack of understanding.

You were correct in your explanation. Naruto's original Rasengan is just a simple, basic chakra technique. By altering the characteristics and aspects of his basic chakra (nature manipulation), he was able to incorporate his wind chakra into the technique. That is why it's also fundamentally possible to infuse a rasengan with fire/water/earth, etc. If I remember correctly, the Rasengan is an incomplete technique. It was always meant to incorporate an elemental nature into it.

Yep, which is why Naruto was capable of using nature transformation on it. Nature transformation is also used to covert your chakra into a nature, on top of already using existing basic chakra to do so. All clear?
