Wind or Fūton is one of the five basic elements in the Naruto universe and is used in a few KG elements one being the Dust and Ice release. In RL Wind is the movement of gases between the o –zone layer and the earths surface, affected by solar activity and rising heat from the earth. In the Naruto world, Wind in naturally weakest against fire, as the air is drawn from the wind and used to fuel the flames, while strongest against Lightning, as it is a natural insulator. Wind can be combined with other basic elements to enhance the power of the attack or defence on example of this is (Wind+Water) Typhoon Water Vortex Technique. Wind release is best used at short-mid range, and is created by making the users chakra as thin and sharp as possible.

Im not to sure to be honest :S to manipulate wind id say it involves alot of rotation and thinning of the chakra. Id also imagine it requires alot of force, were water is fluid etc, wind seems to be about forcing the attacks to be as quick and powerful as possible. Wind can also be used to dispperse smoke and mist or knocking certain projectiles off its path...tell me if you want more...i can try again :s
Well, water can be manipulted in two ways. You either breath in a lot of air into your lungs, while molding it with your chakra, creating fuuton that can be shape manipulated, then exhaled, creating a powerful wind blast, or channel your chakra around you, swirling it manipulating the air around you to create gusts of wind, or even powerful hurricanes.

Now, I'd like you to channel your futon chakra around you, creating a gust of wind next to you and as it swirls, it will pick up dust from the ground, creating a perfect defense against thing like kunais and shurikens

Well, not quite. You'll channel your chakra infront of you creating gusts of wind on the ground, while these gusts of wind will pick up dust from the ground mixing it with dust. As it's completed you'll direct it at the dummy. Give me advans and disadvs too

This jutsu is useful at stopping or re-directing projectiles used against me (kunais, shurikens) and the dust that is kicked up can be used to distract or even temporely blind an enemy. To be used against a lightning projectile would be the most effective use. This jutsu hiwever would not stop a strong fire projectile and is limited to short range if im correct?

Description: User creates a wall of spinning wind in front of him that is used to push back weapons thrown towards him. It can also be used against taijutsu close range attacks, but the wall can be pushed back with a stronger wind jutsu or if a smoke bomb or explosive tag touches the spinning wind they will automatically get activated because of the sharpness of the wind element, damaging the user also.
This is the same thing, but this will not pick up any dusts, but it be a wall of spinning wind, which could deflect projectiles.

This jutsu is useful at stopping shurikens, kunais etc and C Rank lighting projectiles (i think thats right lol) This jutsu is also useful when needing to push back an opponent during CQC. This jutsu however does not offer protection against explosive projectiles as the sharp rotation will activate an explosive tag. Also this jutsu can only be used at short range.

This jutsu is very useful and can be used in several different ways. This jutsu can be used to change direction in mid air, which means it could be used to dodge an attack. This jutsu can also be used to kick up dust and losse debris when used pointing at the ground. Can really think of many disadvantages? Perhaps the most vulnerable part is the inhaling of the air, if an opponent uses some kind of poisonous smoke or mist then it would be deadly to inhale. Also this jutsu couldnt be used under water.

This jutsu would also work well combined with a fire projectile, as the wind will increase the speed and size of the flames. This jutsu can be used to greatly enhance the use power and speed of shurikens and kunais. And allows for multiple use over short to mid range. This jutsu however does seem to be very limited with its use and also with the sphere rotating aroundhe user they may interfere with other jutsus.

True, btw. you can't really defend with this technique, because let's face it. If a giant fireball or water blast is coming towards you, those balls won't save you. o.o I guess they're only good for projectiles.
