[Deviation]

It had been quite a while that Shin had to prove himself. It was nothing new to him but the experience was never a good one for him. He always seemed to screw himself over but this time was different. This time he would prove himself and to one of his mentors that he was not the same man. Shin brimmed with energy and vitality because he stayed positive and trained hard. He was a man who, once he had a goal in mind, carried it till its completion without hesitation. So Shin walked over to the field where he enjoyed training and after an intense screening process, was able to get his mentor to train him. He knew this wasn't going to be easy because he was a very peculiar man. He was very efficient and constantly impressed upon Shin that there can never be room for error. Although he was intimidating, Shin knew that there was a reason for his ruthlessness. There is always a story behind a man, mostly one of pain and strife. He hoped that with time he would learn that such story.

So after arriving, Shin sat down and began to meditate hoping he was there before the masked man known as.....

In a gust and swirl of violent wind, Corvo appears in front of his new trainee. He appears in full attire to fight, complete with mask and everything. He looks down at the man, and looks him over. Young, and fierce looking, but very naive.. This could be interesting.


"Tell me. Why have you sought me out here today..."

In a gust and swirl of violent wind, Corvo appears in front of his new trainee. He appears in full attire to fight, complete with mask and everything. He looks down at the man, and looks him over. Young, and fierce looking, but very naive.. This could be interesting.


"Tell me. Why have you sought me out here today..."

"Wait...no that was yesterday." O_O

Shin gets up and dusts himself off and clears his throat. He speaks in a rather serious tone trying to compose himself.

"My apologies, Corvo-senpai. I have sought you out so that you may teach me the deadly wind arts. I am but a commoner who wishes to prove himself. I will forge my own destiny with these two hands (now looking at his fists). I have fought many a man in my time here but in order for me to become stronger and avenge my mother's death I must ask for help. YOu should understand it is not easy to ask for help. But if one is to be stronger he must be willing to cast aside his pride for the greater good. I hope you of all people understand that.

So please, help me become stronger by sharing your knowledge with me. I will do my best to make sure you do not regret your decision."

Shin opens his eyes wide and looks into Corvo's eyes. He could see the pain and strife and understand that his words ring true and from experience. Shin grinned slightly and closed his eyes. He spoke in an enthusiastic tone.

"I wish to learn wind, Boss. There are some techniques I wish to use but alas it requires me to perfect my ability in it. I would appreciate it if you could share your knowledge with me. So will you?"

Shin closed his eyes and began to dig up all his knowledge on the subject at hand. He didn't know much but he hoped this was good enough for the Boss.

"From what I know, Wind is one of the basic five elements. It isn't as versatile as the other elements but it does have some shining qualities about it. It is associated with speed and cutting power on par with lightning. In small doses it is a great aid to fire, augmenting its power and in some cases its speed and range, but in the same token the fire will devour the wind since it is its natural enemy (stronger). Too much of it and it will put out the oxygen in the fire and snuff it out. Is is stronger against lightning since I think it works as an insulator, drowning out the electricity in it. (Right? >_>) It is a component in the kekkei genkais, swift, ice, and storm. It is also a component of the rare kekkei tota, dust release for which Nidaime and Sandaime Tsuchikage are known for. Oh yes and two renowned users of the wind style that I have heard of were Temari-chan and Naruto-sama.

"Boss, as I am adjusting my breathing and calming down I can feel the wind pass by. It feels relaxing and very gentle. I can feel it brush my cheeks and gently touch my clothes. I can hear it passing through the trees (assuming there are trees...right? >_>) and the song of the birds chirping in glee that the cool autumn breeze has finally come. I think I can smell the air. It smells like trees and....(sniffs).....(Is he wearing that god awful cologne?)....um...(coughs and hacks)....ehhhh.

Sorry Boss. Anyways, it is fascinating to know how the wind can carry smells and other...odor. I can even taste the breeze as it brushes against my tongue...I think. It is interesting the noise it makes as it passes by. There was once a saying in my village that when the wind blows a deceased loved one is remembering about you. One thing I notice is how big of a difference there is in wind. This breeze is nice but I have seen where the wind can be ravaging and destroying everything in its path. It is truly frightening though not as much as lightning.

Listening to the Boss, Shin sits down in a meditative position including his hands. He closes his eyes and begins to focus. He first listens to his breathing and works on getting it to slow down. *And with that, a Chidori forms in my hand and slices through the pillar, letting you fall to the ground.*

*I do a quick hand seal, and use Doton No-Jutsu and raise you 100m into the air on a pillar of earth. I then yell up at you.*

"Notice how up there, the wind is harsh and powerful, rather than gentle and peaceful. I want you to focus on the feeling of the wind in your lungs, and breath it out, letting wind stream out of your mouth.*

*And with that, a Chidori forms in my hand and slices through the pillar, letting you fall to the ground.*

As the pillar breaks and Shin begins to fall towards the ground, he quickly thinks as best he can to save himself. He knows he has seconds to think so he deduces that if he uses the same technique he did a while back he might be able to keep himself from hurting himself. So Shin focuses on the same feeling again as he gathers his chakra inside his lungs, letting it build up and mix with the oxygen inside. He inhales and puffs up with the wind chakra inside his lungs and as he exhales, he blows out a small stream in midair to change his direction. He had focused the wind ahead of him so that it pushes him back at a certain angle which allows Shin to descend gracefully on the ground. As he lands on the ground, Shin gives an evil smirk at his senpai.

"(Sighs) Here I thought you were gonna take it easy on me. I guess I'm going to have to give you a run for your money now, Boss."
