And if he did it would put him up way above sasuke and then sasuke gets the rinnegan and all kind of stupid shit happens

I think the Juubi will fall, but not from constant bombarding, the allied forces (with or without Sasuke), will be killed before they can accomplish that.

But it can be taken down in other ways. By removing the chakra from one of the tailed beasts. Hachibi has very little inside it, and so does Kurama, so all they need to do, is to remove that part. The gourd and pot are said to be indestructible, so find them inside the juubi, and bring them out, and it will not be able to continue its transformation. Most likely it will crumble and revert to the statue form (given what happened, when the 2 items were swallowed by it, it has been transforming since).
