i think the fact that Ashura and Indras will turned to working together which brought out Hagoromo means that the long fight between the wills of both Ashura and Indra have found peace and decided to reconnect.
i do have a dj-storyline, that i had written quite a long time ago, and stopped it because i had little to no-info on what i could base the events on, but after seeing kaguya, and how its turned out, i have a bit more space to work with.

indra and reinc. had never surpassed indra, how could they even beat indra and his reinc?
sasuke won many times against naruto. dont even need to mention one by one.
madara didnt die against hashi and even had a lot of times to prepare his resurrection
