will the anime explain Sumire/Iwabe/Denki not being in the chunin exams

They are anime new filler characters. When the film released in 2015, and the recap version in 2016, neither of them were created until the announcement of the Anime.

If they are canon then I would think part of them are metal lees team

And other half failed the first exam and I think sumire failed first part of the exam in order to hide her true strength that's why we haven't seen her go further in chunin exams, it's also possible team sumire lost to the cloud trio like metal lee lost to the sand trio

Probably not. Chunin Exams are boring and overdone. It might happen in the time skip like mentioned in regards to Naruto when he came back from his training and everyone was a rank higher than him xD

I know for a fact that Sarada for instance might take this ranking system seriously. But I don't think Boruto or Mitsuki really give a shit.

It would be funny to see a time skip where Boruto comes back and everyone is a Jonin. Prodigy generation smh lol
