Kishi's hinted at the parallel between AsumaXKurenai and ShikamaruXTemari. Naruto comically asked whether Shikamaru and Temari were on a date (

Throughout all of Shippuden, Kurenai was pregnant and couldn't fight. I'm afraid that the same will happen to Temari in the upcoming Naruto movie The Last.

Oh boy. Looks like it may seem to be the case. Then again, isn't their kid the same age as the others? That might not happen, considering that all of the new gen are around the same age range. If anything, Temari might still be active in the movie. Since her marriage and childbirth would have to start around the same range as Naruto and co for Shikidai to be as old as his peers.

If we go by parallels, best guess is that the kids shown were at least 12-13 years old. So yeah, she'll probably be in action.

(As in, when they tell people they're together, everyone gets confused and goes "wait weren't you two already dating??") So I am really curious on where they stand with each other at the time this movie takes place. Their thoughts on each other in chapters 641/678 was just begging for some sort of interaction between them to happen that never happened, so I'm assuming that the movie just has to have some sort of stepping stone to show how we got from "like I would ever!" and "marriage haha what's that sounds troublesome??" to Shikadai being born. The ideal scenario I can think of would be a callback to their interaction in the last chapter of part 1 where she said she'd save him again if needed, since we never saw that happening.

When the Shinju started sucking the ASF's chakra, I thought Temari would save Shikamaru by cutting incoming tree branches much like Tobirama and Hiruzen did to Naruto.
