Will technology ever advance as far as it is in Sword Art Online? Will there ever be a videogame where we have to put on a helmet and we actually end up in the world of that videogame? Now im talking about a virtual reality game where whenever we move our real bodies won't move. If you do think that will advance this far then how many years do you think it'll take?

Most likely, yes. The main question is how long it will take. If I had to take a guess, I'd go with 10-15 years or so, although that's not much more than a random guess.

Virtual reality is already upon us my friend.

Wicked Paradise has been announced for the Oculus Rift virtual reality console. And it’s a game about ***.

You must be registered for see images

“Imagine walking into a bar in Wicked Paradise,” reads a press release on the game’s website, “noticing a beautiful lady, talking to her, and seducing her.” The site also says “Imagine playing your cards right and having passionate wild *** with her.”

“Imagine all this in high quality, immersive virtual reality.”

Whilst the game sounds like it’s being developed by a bunch of first-year university students studying game design, Wicked Paradise has some pretty “wicked” credentials that would prove otherwise. The development team is made up of individuals who worked on Rage, Planetside 2, Lost Planet and Call of Duty.

Are you shocked at the announcement of Wicked Paradise? Us neither.

Wicked Paradise is expected to release in 2014 along with the Oculus Rift. Just make sure you don’t share your Rift with someone playing Wicked Paradise.

Now exactly SAO level .... but close enough U_U

Thats how video games were in the 80's, and even early 90's. technology advances at such a faster rate than it did then, and it's so much cheaper to make (an Iphone costs $15 to produce, and before you say well thats cause China, $10 is the glass which is made in Kentucky.) things. In 15 years this shit will be readily available.

I was just thinking this the other day when watching sao. I'm pretty sure in the future they will have something like sao for games.

After watching sao, I would be pretty hesitant to put on head gear lol

Well SAO takes place around 2024-2027, within that range. So in reality, can we have that technique within 10-15 years?
