What's the point of even becoming a Chunin/Joinin anymore? Ranks are only used to determine what type of missions you get assigned therefore equaling your payment for completion.

Naruto was going on S Ranked Missions when he was still ranked as a Genin (and in Sasuke's case a Missing-Nin) so there'd absolutely be no point in being promoted.
