If my memory serves me right, Chapter 597 was the halfway point in the series, so you simply just have to double that number. Considering this, the last chapter will be around 1200, which is still 500 more chapters for Oda to make. If I had to guess, I would say the series will continue for 11 more years.

and considering how long it took to get to this point and how many things Oda has left to explain to us its gonna last at least that long if he wants to do i properly ...

creators change their mind all the time. look at kishimoto, naruto was supposed to end in 2010, then in 2012, now its apparently either this september 2013 or june 2014.
