and of course the big showdown going on between obit/madara/juubi vs allied shinobi army

Really now.

All that I know is that an interviewer asking him if it's going to end and Kishi said that he knows the end, has it all drawn in his head and that he always wanted to end the series sooner but he found himself continuing it because there are more things he wants to add.

Like in that interview with Kakashi. In 2008 he said that next year is going to be a big surprise about Kakashi, that's going to be his year, yet he barely managed to do it now, in 2012.

So imagine the things he said, he still has so many things he wants to write about... That's what Kishi said.

So dunno about this finishing after the war stuff, from where it started.
