No. Naruto was inspired by DBZ, Kishi made it because he fell in love with that franchise.

naruto wouldn't be as popular as it is if it wasn't for dbz. as soon as dbz started to lose popularity naruto came in. dbz kicks narutos ass up and down the block. I watched a video about people saying naruto is better than dbz and I laughed. dbz is almost a 30 year old show and still has products coming out. its not even beating one piece in japan. I am a hardcore naruto fan but also a veteran dbz fan. but once it starts being one piece in japan then ill accept the eventuality.

Naruto is a far better story than DBZ. DBZ impacted more, but as a series, Naruto is better.

Maybe if this final arc is great and Naruto ends in a good way but will never be as good as DBZ

As everyone else said no probably not. If they would have left out all the dumb fillers it would have been a closer race

I don't see it happening the thing you've got to understand is back in the days of DBZ Anime wasn't nearly as big you had a couple of great ones but nowadays Anime is getting bigger and bigger and with all Naruto's inconsistencies and unshown big characters like: Mangetsu Hozuki, Shisui Uchiha, Izuna Uchiha, Kagami Uchiha, Sakumo Hatake, etc. it makes it less important imo

Naruto never made me lift my hands in the air to help make the rasen shuriken stronger but dragon ball z did sure ive done a few hand signs to make a jutsu work but never as much as ive wanted to make a Kamehameha work dragon ball z has impacted us more than Naruto has but that's my opinion and im sure other will believe the same

i loved dbz...and i will admit that i like Naruto more, but i don't think Naruto will ever reach the popularity that dbz has. i feel that dbz is just easier to understand...and that simplicity made the show very sophisticated
