Will Naruto and Sasuke have an equal opportunity?

And we know Sasuke wants to be Hokage now, just like Naruto.

This may sound crazy, but I think that Sasuke has just as much potential to become Hokage as Naruto. Back when Sasuke was in the village, he was acknowledged by everyone, while Naruto was hated by everyone. Now, the situation is reversed since Sasuke became a missing-nin.

However, it's very possible for Sasuke to change peoples' opinions of him through the fight with the Juubi, Obito and Madara by helping to save the shinobi world, making him once again be acknowledged by everyone and have as much of a chance as Naruto to be Hokage.

What do you guys think? Will Sasuke be able to redeem himself and be acknowledged by the people of the Leaf again?

No, Naruto has already done a great deal of good for the village, stopping Pain and stopping Gaara, he is already the village hero. Whatever Sasuke does in this war will be partnered with Naruto.

So Naruto in the end has a higher chance, the village already thinks he should be Hokage.

and when his former peers tried to tell him about what hokage means he said he didnt care what they thought
clearly he wont be acknowledged by them where naruto is

plus the fact he was evil just 5 minutes ago doesnt help

i don't think he has a chance i mean he has murdered someone for personal reasons i know they are shinobi and that is what they do but you don't murder someone from your village then declare you are going to kill everyone in the village and then think i will be hokage of that village sorry not gonna happen

Kishi can somehow make it possible.. I do doubt that it would happen, or rather i hope it doesn't happen. Sasuke changes his mind too much so i wouldn't trust him as hokage.

Another thing is that Naruto has always wanted to be hokage so how is Sasuke going to want that now and just take that from naruto, i dont see it happening. Plus what about Konohamaru and Naruto's fight for the Hokage title?

If doring the story comes the time where people would choose between sasuke or naruto for hokage i can see either one of these two things happening;
1. The same situation that happened with Hashirama and Madara occurs again with Naruto and Saduke.
2. Or Naruto gives his position as hokage to Sasuke so the same situation doesn't repeat it self. Since he wants to make peace so bad

He was acknowledged by more than just little girls. The people in the village knew he was a prodigy and the sole survivor of the "legendary" Uchiha. Even at the chunin exams, tons of people wanted to see his fight with Gaara more than anything else. But I do understand what you're saying about what he said to his peers, but those are just his peers. 11 chunin out of an entire village can't really determine whether or not someone should be Hokage or not

Actually, I don't think that the whole village even knows that Sasuke set out to destroy Konoha. I could be wrong, but from what I remember without going back and reading, Sasuke only told his team, Naruto, Sakura, Kakashi, and Obito about his desire to destory the village. The others just hate him because he was affiliated with the Akatsuki
