Hopefully. I'm not expecting much, but good female characters is undoubtedly one of Naruto's weakest points. So far Sarada seems pretty balanced and independent, it'd be ideal if she stayed that way.

The pivotal point of her character will be when she meets up with her supposed father, Sasuke - her reaction then will be interesting, and I would be impressed if she doesn't actually cry.

I wouldn't be surprised if Sasuke did that, still I'd wonder if she'd react the way I'm thinking of. I can see she's no cry baby and she's level headed. Something tells me that will be the time she cries. Either by the weight of this heartfelt moment or being rejected by the very person she wanted get to know. Then there is that "Dark side" kishi told us about to factor in. Does she truly want to see Sasuke or does she have something more sinister in mind?

Chocho and Sarada are life?
Two best characters of the new generation and they're females.... so far.
Temari, Konan, Ino?
Temari had no time to get ruined, which is good I guess. Konan followed men. Nagato anf the other guy were the ones who did things while she just followed along like a good girl. She didn't even question Nagato's decisions.

Ino? She's the same as Sakura.
As well as they may have done for academy students....I bet you anything if these were male ninja then they wouldn't have needed Naruto to save them.

That's just how Kishi sadly does things.
I hate that I can see you being right.
Even if Salad and Chocho are written better than previous females, it still won't redeem him, because the crappy female characters would still outweigh them by a shit ton.
Possibly. At least he would have learned.

Hmmm. Crying isn't necessarily a bad thing I think. As long as Kishi does it right I don't think it will hurt her character. Even Sasuke cried.

Why? Kishimoto doesn't owe anyone any gender equality in writing. And this reply goes for anyone who believes that Kishimoto is under some obligation to add depth to female characters. Guess what? He really isn't.

I think It's more about making them better to make a better story. No one wants a character that sucks.

When there are so many characters in a manga stretched to 15 years and 700 plus chapters, then it's obvious that many will suck.
It shouldn't be a main character though. Maybe side characters, but a main character has years to be developed.

It's really not about gender equality for me. That's what I meant anyway.

Yea seeing your father for the first time can be very emotional, no one can blame her if she cried. The bold would be dreadful though.

Then there is that "Dark side" kishi told us about to factor in. Does she truly want to see Sasuke or does she have something more sinister in mind?
What dark side?

We obviously know her intentions because we read her inner thoughts for the first 2 chapters, and they were all about her wanting to have a father and wanting to meet him and find answers. Nothing sinister comes to mind. :lol
