He has a chance, he needs to work on rebounds, defence, leadership. He's already a better shooter than Lebron

He's only 24, another 3-4 years, he'll dominate

I also feel the same way. Lebron is one of my favorite players but people don't give KD enough credit sometimes. The guys only 24 not even in his prime. If theres anyone in the league right now who can step up to Lebrons stature it's him.

Durant is better at scoring. He needs to play better defense. But, as long as he keeps it up, he will be one of the best scorers of all time. He's got a better shot than LeBron. But this year is LeBron's prime and the question I want to know is if Durant's prime will be better.

right now durant is a better shooter . He cant drive to the basket like lebron . Nor does he do anything else as good as lebron . However durant is younger and has time to improve . This is the first year he has shown all around game . His rebounding ,assist , shot blocking etc are all up compared to past seasons . However lebron has always been a well rounded player . So lebron better than k.d. . But kd is second best player in the league

Durant is better scoring wise but lebron is a complete player on both ends of the floor, he can score, defend, pass, rebound and he's also very consistent. Durant is a pure scorer, the guy can score from anywhere beyond the arc, mid-range, post and not only that he's also very clutch on like lebron BUT he's not a complete player like he is though. i guess he does have the potential.

If you mean both players in their prime, I would say hell no. But at one stage, Durant will probably be better as Lebron is a few years older than him. Lebron is something completely new and unseen. He's a defining player, like how Wilt was, Magic was, Bird, Jordan and Shaq was. There has been players like Durant.

Both are forwards so it's fair to compare them. Durant is the better scorer in that he can go 8/16 and give a team 28-30ppg. However he doesn't have Lebron's size, court vision, or passing ability. Because Durant is all bones and no muscle he can't post up and gets beat up a lot like in the Memphis series. Passing isn't his game. When he tries to force passes to get his team involved he gets Jeremy Lin assist numbers that are high in a assists, but high in turnovers as well. Durant's defense leaves a lot to be desired, but if he ever gets better his wingspan is going to make him a problem.

So can he ever surpass Lebron as the best Forward of our generation? It's possible, but very unlikely unless he bulks up and gets a killer instinct.

I honestly don't know if Durant is the better scorer. Lebron's great at every aspect, so nothing gets noticed the most, though his passing gets praise. Durant is great at scoring and that's it, so people naturally assume he's better than Lebron at it. When it comes to shooting, Durant is definitely better, though the numbers don't completely support this, except for free throws. But Lebron is the best at getting to the basket and finishing in the league. If I'm not mistaken, he shot the highest percentage in the restricted area this season, at 70%. Their movesets are pretty even, I believe.

He has talent but he still needs work. We all just saw what happened to him when Westbrook got taken away. If you want to be that best of the best player, you need to be able to win when your help isn't there.

That said, I think the Thunder have chance of being better than the Heat real soon. Both Wade is going downhill and Bosh isn't as good as he was before he came to the Heat, while Westbrook and Durant are getting better.

LeBron is the most complete player I have ever seen play the game. He does too much on the court, while Durant is definitely the better offensive player he has alot of other things he has to work on to catch up to lebron. However Durant will be a great player but I dont think he will catch LeBron.

No way in hell. Durant was quoted by saying this,“I’ve been second my whole life. I was the second best player in high school. I was the second pick in the draft. I’ve been second in the MVP voting three times. I came in second in the finals. I’m tired of being second. I’m not going to settle for that. I’m done with it….

“I’m not taking it easy on [LeBron]. Don’t you know I’m trying to destroy the guy every time I go on the court?”

Well he had his chance this year and look what it got him. A 4-1 knock out from the Grizzlies. If he wants to be first he better start leading his team better than that. LeBron made it to the finals when he was by himself with the Cavs and to CF multiple times. Give him that he did it last year, against LEBRON and the heat who destroyed them. I think everyone knows LeBron could average 35 a game if all he did was shoot, of course I also think he could average a triple double if he stopped trying to score after 10. Now before I get jumped by some degenerate who knows nothing about the game.. I'll give KD credit, he can score anyway he wants and he is truly a specimen being 6'11" handling the ball like he does. He'll be a Hall of Famer no doubt about it unless he gets injured or falls apart. But will he be better then LeBron? Nope. By the time he would have been some guy younger and more talented will have come along and probably outshadowed both of them or at least gave them a run for their money.
